Shooting First time at the range — anyone want to show a noob the ropes at the Stittsville shooting ranges (Ottawa)? Late July/early Aug
Hi, I'm in the Ottawa area and have never been shooting before and looking to finally try it out. Stittsville Shooting Ranges seems like the closest spot to me, so if anyone local has a license and gear and wouldn't mind bringing a first-timer along sometime late July/early August, I'd really appreciate it. Happy to cover whatever's needed on my end.

First time I ever shot a gun was a stittsville. Still remember pulling up at the firing line and shitting my panties. I don’t live in Ottawa so can’t help you but any anxiety is normal. Just watch some YouTube videos. The RSOs there are pretty friendly so just talk to them and I’m sure they’d be happy to help. God speed

I don't know about that range but my range had the option for a "supervised shoot" whereby an RSO was with me for an hour to show me how things work etc. That was actually before I became a member, and cost like $40. Really helped me feel more confident and the experience was great (and so I became a member).
I suggest you show up at a time when it isn't likely to be busy, and just let them know it's your first time and I am sure they'll help you out!
