Gun and gear reviews Kral Arms KR22 Tactical

Sorry in advance as im not a review guy but i wanted to give some input on this rifle and i haven’t seem much on it.... so here we go

Finally got the Kr22 tactical out to the range today with a buddy and got roughly 600ish rounds down the tube before I ran out of ammo and called it a day, S&B canadian match ammo, will test different brands next weekend.

First thoughts, its a full polymer/plastic upper and lower aswell as the handguard, feels nice, super light, and has little to no wiggle (feels solid), build quality is better than expected for a 300$ Turkish semi 22lr, comes with backup irons and a muzzle device.

OEM mags are garbage, i better luck with the small box 10 round ruger 10/22 mags, the bx25 pinned mags gave me more trouble for some reason but still better than the mags it comes with, ergonomics are nice but the saftey is super stiff and kinda sharp, trigger feels cheap and clunky, and the folding stock doesn't like to stay folded but again... 300$ i can't be too picky.

We ran around 600 rounds of S&B canadian match, 3 light strikes, 27 failure to feeds and sometimes seems like it was trying to load 2 rounds at once, it would eject slow and some empty casings got totally crushed by the bolt coming back forward before it made its way out of the chamber, I regret not taking photos of the malfunctions as maybe someone could have given some insight since im not super firearm savy, I will be trying different brands and velocities to see if it will run better, rifle feels great in the hands and does scratch the itch a little with the takedown pins and saftey location,

Hopefully I can figure out how to get it running better as it's definitely fun while it works!

Interesting. Was really tempted with the price even though I have a tm-22 already. Glad I didn’t pull the trigger though, think ill pass on the all plastic construction

It's definitely not for everyone, I wanted to try it out just because of the price and I wasn't overly worried about being out 300$ if it was a garbage stick, could be fun for someone who likes tinkering and figuring out how to make things work better

For sure. Not shitting on it by any means. I’m sure it’s still a fun, cool looking cheap plinker. Just a lot less appealing. Think an all metal tm22 with top charger, without the ugly clamshell mag shrouds and fake suppressors mogs this

If it was all metal it would definitely be alot cooler no argument there lol a tm22 top charge is hot I do agree with you there

Honestly is they were all aluminum id be all over it. Still tempted for the low price price 299 to give it a shot.

I know it takes 1022 mags, wonder what other 1022 parts fit, if any. Would he pretty sweet if it could take barrels. Swapping a 12" or 14" 1022 barrel onto this would be sweet, if it was possible.

If it was shorter it wouldnt be able to fold or it would be under oal id rather go for short barrel than fold though aswell

Truly appreciate the review! Got one of these ordered off Gotenda for like $300, really curious to see what the Turkish can deliver at this price, impatiently waiting.

Is that an AR compatible trigger???

I was wondering the same, unfortunately I don't have any parts to reference, but it does look an awful lot like an AR trigger group and saftey selector, i do have some more pics of inside the lower I could send to you if you can send pictures over reddit

I wonder how this compares to the Adler Arms RF224. I think the KR22 looks better. I’d definitely be interested in one with a shorter barrel.

A shorter barrel would definitely be something id be interested in, I can't say i have experience with the RF224 but I kinda want to get all the Turkish 22s and see how they stack up against each other, some will say a waste of money, some will call it science 🤔

Maybe try polishing up the extractor claws. I had similar FTEs on my TM22 when I first bought it and took some fine sandpaper to the extractor and it fixed it, just wasn't releasing the shell before the bolt closed. Might help.

These things are cool looking, nice to have another tactical 22 available, I like the look of them, almost bought one a while back

Thank you! Ill take it apart and give that a try this week, I did a quick disassemble when I first got it and couldn't figure out how to get the bolt out before I had to go to bed so I tossed it back together and said "ill figure this out later" lol.

It is nice to have another tactical option, I also really like the look of them, gives that AR style without breaking the bank.

I got one, had a bad experience at the range. 30rnds 10 light strikes.
I’ll do another full cleaning to check if that is the problem.
