Feets / Collection / My build Wife asked me to pickup a shark cooter board. Instructions unclear, 1301 acquired.

Touched grass with friends today. Got some nice glamor shots in the process. I gotta say, besides burning my finger on the barrel, running rounds through the 1301 never fails to put a smile on my face.

LOL, I have a sling I just took it off for the pics. I was thinking about picking up the Truckee forend & Urbino stock.

We have this one on the wall in the shop right now. Gotta say the real deal semi auto 12ga are impressive. Definitely a much nicer feel to em then the turkish ones.

Oh big time. Real M4's & 1301's feel unreal to run at the range.

Right? We just started this year with Stoeger and so its my first taste of them we've had one m4 and one 1301. But even the a300/400s and the silver pigeons are night and day. Heck the 686 sporting we have in right now shames the citori 825 we had last year from browning. The italians sure know what theyre doing.

When instructions are unclear, it's always best to err on the side of acquiring a new gun.

how heavy is it to carry? looks like an excellent bear/cougar gun

They are insanely light

I think they are like 6.8 pounds unloaded out of the box. I got mine in the mail and I picked to the box and was worried they forgot to put the shotgun inside it was so light.

1

u/TheScranHouse Jun 21 '26

2

u/External_Big_2982 Jun 21 '26

What’s it made of ? Is aluminum ?

2

u/SJHardware Jun 21 '26

It's made of thin walled aluminum tubeing.

1

u/TheScranHouse Jun 21 '26

Thats a good question. It feels light so Its probably aluminum

Does that fit 6x or 7x of the 2.75" shells?

The S&J one fits like 6.9x of the 2.75" shells which seems like such a tease

burning my finger on the barrel

Get one of these :

https://www.gggaz.com/beretta-1301-zhukov-handguard.html

And then get one of these :

https://www.gggaz.com/beretta-1301-heat-shield.html

Problem solved.

True, but ive seen these in shops marked up at $300+ for what is essentially hacked up magpul accessories. Im either gonna order some nice rail wrap or attempt to fabricate my own heatshield.

1

u/TheScranHouse Jun 21 '26

If you really think about it, this is a blunderbuss.

I hope you have a permanent plug in that extension for legality sake

u/TheScranHouse Jun 21 '26

I dont think sporting stores would sell the kit if it was illegal lol.

u/LongRoadNorth Jun 22 '26 edited Jun 22 '26

Except it's only illegal if you put it on a semi where the law is max 5 of the largest chamber size, in the case of the 1301, being 3".

If you got it from tacord they're good with setting it up. If you got it from FOC or anywhere else they don't and fyi it's illegal.

Not trying to be a dick or anything I literally bought mine from FOC not realizing the legalities around it and had tacord make me a permanent plug. And it was someone on this sub that brought up that FOC is selling it not making people aware of the legalities around which firearm it's on.

If you can fit more than 6 rounds of 2 3/4 it's not plugged and I hope you never get caught.

Weird, I appreciate your insight on that. I'll take that into consideration when im out next!
