The offset is negligible downrange compared to the accuracy of the guns they are typically mounted to. An SVD optic may hang out as far as .375".... at 1000m that works out to 3.75" windage shift.
I tried it out on a normal gun, 2 offset mounts, low scope rings on them, scope mounted off to the side but straight up and down, not offset.
Honestly felt pretty easy to use. Slight adjustment to how I normally aimed but totally livable.
I switched it back pretty quick though because I wouldn't choose that style if I didn't have to. And I didn't have to. But just know it's not as bad as you think.

How is it having the scope off center like that? I feel like it would be an awkward adjustment to get used to
