Shooting Genius idea.

I got these from a gun show near Winnipeg a few months ago. I painted it yellow and blasted it with my sks at 50 yards. I love not having to reset the target.

I wish I could give credit to the maker. I don't remember who it was.

Hearing the ring is oh so satisfying.

Not a fan personally as you can't control the ricochet direction if the target is bouncing around the range.

It does work for the self sealing rubber balls, since the shot goes through them and at worst is a ground ricochet.

Hanging steel is just safer and better, though it does require more setup.

Do you have any recommendations on where to get some hanging steel from (hopefully affordable)?

Got one by Allen off amazon for $50 last year. Most gun stores sell them as well of course. The real issue is finding a good supplier for straps to hang it, as they're consumable and will eventually break if you hit them too many times. For example, steel chain is terrible for hanging, because one shot will break a chain. Using old seatbelt straps, cut up tire strips, fire hose, etc is much better as those will last many hits and are a lot cheaper to make but sometimes harder to find depending on where you live.

Unfortunately no, I purchased mine from Range rabbit but they seem to be perpetually closed.

Additionally steel is heavy and bulky to ship, typically buying local is preferred.

Drummond targets look like a reasonable brand from Calgary shooting center (CSC) you need to buy

  1. brackets
  2. chains
  3. targets

Then buy some 2x4's to use as the legs.

Something like this.
