Misc Strange round pulled from a box of federal premium berger
Never seen anything like this. Sent them a email inquiring. Only noticed it after my bolt wouldn't close while reloading yesterday. Not sure how this passed by QC.

Seen flipped primers, pushed back bullets, dent and gouges of all kinds, but still lame when it’s expensive ammo such as this.

I bought two boxes of .270 Winchester Deer Season XP a few years back. Worst bullet seating I have ever seen. Longest to shortest varied almost 3/16 of an inch. Some had the cannelure way above the brass edge and some were seated way down below.

A buddy of mine sent me this. I had multiple boxes of shitty terminal ascent and Berger 180s from federal. The cases were dented and almost %90 of them didn’t allow my action to close. No issue with Hornady or Barnes ammo though. For ammunition that’s $90 a box you’d think the quality would be better.

Crazy that you can buy 5,000 rounds of Chinese surplus 5.56 and not get a single bad round and these companies can’t figure out quality control

You're lucky that round didnt go through! That would put some gasses where they definetly should not be.

Email federal and get your money back, had a bunk box of power shock and a cheque is on its way for reimbursement

I imagine they'll want the packaging as well, or whatever serials are on the box so they can ID when it was made and on what machine.
You might be getting a few free boxes of ammo.

I emailed them and im getting a whopping 20 dollars sent to me via cheque to make up for the single round defect lol. Not a great resolution but I'm not going to complain. At least they emailed me back and addressed it and offered anything. Have dealt with far worse companies who won't even respond.

Good reminder to inspect all your ammo!
