How does a imported firearm sell in Canada without a FRT?

Very riskily lol.

Idk, the MRA is pretty sexy as well in a ATRS Modern Hunter kindov way.

Not having to unscrew the buffer tube for basic disassembly Is a huge perk for this model tho!

I'll take the renegade over anything with turkish qc

Is the action cycled by the charging handle? Or is there something on the left side?

6

u/Perfect_Diamond_1128 Jun 17 '26

The rod with the charging handle slides in where the usual t-shape ar15 charging handle would be. You can flip the rod so you can choose which side the racking handle is on, you cycle the action with the handle since theres no gas system

u/marston82 Jun 17 '26

Can you use an ar15 charging handle instead?

2

u/Perfect_Diamond_1128 Jun 17 '26

Yes, it would look nicer but would be harder to use

Not pump. I like the Troy PAR and the SCSA Taipan X more because of that

8

u/dgod40 Jun 17 '26

People knock the pump 556 but for run and gun it's not that bad. I just wish the Taipan locked forward when chambered

u/Burlakh Jun 17 '26

Is it 5.56 NATO/.223 Wylde or just .223 thought?

I can never work out the ergonomics of these ar style straightpulls. Maybe I’m just too clumsy.

I am going to he floored if this gets anything other than an prohib FRT.

Lately it’s like some drunk dude that’s blind folded is just throwing random FRT’s on stuff at the RCMP lab. Giving the MK-15 a non-restricted is hilarious (it should be according to law Non-restricted anyways) given that it’s basically a AR crossed with a FAL.

Don't forget that Motiuk l85 that was approved. The l85 takes very heavy inspiration from the AR18.

Looks almost like a real rifle lol

3

u/blueline731 Jun 17 '26

4

u/Perfect_Diamond_1128 Jun 17 '26

1.5k-2k range I believe

1

u/Remarkable_Vanilla34 Jun 17 '26

can you dm where?

5

u/Perfect_Diamond_1128 Jun 17 '26

$1,650.00 for .308 model, check Swamp Donkey Outdoors web page. All sold out

2

u/Remarkable_Vanilla34 Jun 17 '26

Ya i found that, thank though, i was looking for the 223/556 model

2

u/AnnualTune2673 Jun 17 '26

Banned next week or whenever FRT drops.

2

u/WeightedDips95 Jun 17 '26

Very cool. Be cooler if it had a shorter barrel and/or if it was pump action. Would love to see some more options like that

u/Even-Somewhere-9554 Jun 17 '26

Nice. We need more competitors so people in MRA would think about changing their ugly charging handle.

My renegade is beauty except the charging handle

5

u/marston82 Jun 17 '26

Sweet, definitely getting this over the Renegade. Looks like you field strip and remove the bolt without removing the buffer tube! You have to hand it to the Turks, they know how to make affordable and functional guns that are legal in Canada.

7

u/DougMacRay617 Jun 17 '26

They make affordable. Thats about it

5

u/epnk420 Jun 17 '26

Awe it’s Turkish?? I refuse to buy anymore from them unfortunately way too many issues that’s a shame

1

u/marston82 Jun 17 '26

This gov has destroyed my standards for guns. At this point if it’s a straight pull rifle that looks like an ar15 I am buying it.

4

u/epnk420 Jun 17 '26

That’s why I allegedly got an MRA as it’s as least Canadian made, I will say this one is more pleasing in the looks like an ar department I’d still never buy it

6

u/TheBulletBuddy Jun 17 '26

This one isnt ugly, but im not sure why people say it looks "SO MUCH BETTER!" than the Renegade? They look the same, except for the brass deflector, a forward assist? and the charging handle?

Its a cool option, but for a Turk rifle, im shocked its more expensive than the Renegade.

4

u/epnk420 Jun 17 '26

Yeah no thanks lol I’ll reiterate never buying Turk again lol costs more in headaches then buying a real rifle lol

3

u/TheBulletBuddy Jun 17 '26

Id understand the appeal of this one it if it was like a grand MAYBE, it'd be the usual cheaper, novelty, gamble that is buying a turk rifle but at a nice cheap price. But for a few hundred bucks cheaper, you can get better quality.

Just seems strange haha. Always good to see more options in general though.

2

u/iatekane Jun 17 '26

Something can’t look aesthetic but your can appreciate the aesthetics of something.

It’s a good looking rifle and always nice to have more options available, so hopefully this one makes it as well.

Hypothetically does that mean a cmmg 22lr conversion kit would fit in this?

3

u/Remarkable_Vanilla34 Jun 17 '26

Now that i think of it with the right parts this could also be a 9mm...

2

u/Remarkable_Vanilla34 Jun 17 '26

i was thinking the same thing and i have one. But i want to make sure i can change the barrel to an actual 22lr barrel and have a LRBHO. the drop in conversions work ok but their kinda of gimmicky, i mean as far as 22lrs go lol

1

u/Remarkable_Vanilla34 Jun 17 '26

from what i can find its a proprietary receiver so there is a chance it will get an FRT

2

u/AnnualTune2673 Jun 17 '26

Where have you found this?

1

u/Remarkable_Vanilla34 Jun 18 '26

Googling, its pins are offset so it won't align with an ar15 receiver and it doesn't machining for a gas system.

1

u/AnnualTune2673 Jun 18 '26

Do you have a link to this? I couldn't find anything at all
