Gun and gear reviews Not the best experience with the pps50
Oh boy where do I start? It slam fired 1 round after 3 consecutive jams,2 out of battery detonations,my thumb got cut somewhere on the gun,near nonstop jams, countless failures to feed/extract,many of the failed fed rounds got smashed and were unusable, and my feelings are hurt because this gun looks really cool but isn’t reliable at all.

These take some tinkering to get them running properly. The first time I took mine out, I only had the drum, and it misfed every other round lol. Now I have the stick mags and it seems to run much better, you just have to pay attention to load carefully while loading both the sticks and drums.

Both sticks and drums weren’t working for me just nonstop failure

The slamfiring and jamming is just drawing from its PPSh heritage lmao. Pity though, something to scratch that suomi m31 itch would have been nice

Don’t feel bad. The KP31 I had was a jam machine as well. And remarkably heavy for a sub gun. My old m305 felt more nimble than that thing

High velocity ammo (CCI Blazer, at least, box stuff too), keep it clean and lubed, and it should be better. Avoid low cost winchester ammo; that stuff has horrible tolerances and quality.

Some Winchester ammo that came with the gun from the store.

There’s the issue- you need high velocity/non Winchester ammo.
Try some and let us know if it makes a difference.

It’s my personal experience that Winchester 22 ammo only works in old bolt guns and single shots. Any semi that is even somewhat sensitive to ammo selection will not like it. I recommend something higher velocity

Mine is very hit or miss, some days it will run through +250 rounds without a single issue and others it seems to fail every few shots. I have a strong suspicion it partially has to do with the magazine not pushing the bullets upwards enough but I haven’t really dug into it yet.

its mag related, the drums are actually reliable but the stick mags most of them jams

My experience is the opposite. My stick mags are flawless with CCI blazer, my drum (plastic / blackdog, not the metal one) has FTF issues.

Mine runs reasonably well with CCI Blazer 40gr, and CCI Mini-Mags 40gr. I’d say I have 1-2 malfunctions every 100 rounds or so. It took awhile to break in though, but got better with time. I must have around 5,000 rounds through mine now.
I’d suggest that you clean your gun really well, try some better quality ammo (CCI) and then report back.

i think many new owners here werent around when the first round of these started being sold in canada about 10 years ago and had a terrible reputation for reliably
at least in 2014 they where $150. now i see they want a ridiculous 500 bucks for them now

I had a similar experience, but I tested about a half-dozen different ammo types and found that Remington Golden Bullet ran almost flawlessly in my gun.
Golden Bullet was the cheapest and fastest high-velocity ammo I could find.
Other brands were very hit-or-miss, including Browning and Winchester 555, which have a similar FPS to the Golden Bullet. CCI was decent, but Golden Bullets ran the smoothest.
I find my stick mags to be far more reliable than the drum, which I could never get running right.

Like some people have already said use high velocity ammo. I use 38gr remington hollow point at 1400 fps. My run flawlessly with 30 round mags and 100 round drum mag.

Hilariously mine was rock solid out of the box, my most dependable random plinker .22 (as long as you don’t use the drum)

I always ran rem thunderbolts through mine without issue, found the round nose seemed to help with feed issues

Wild. Iv ran about 250 rounds or so through mine and had I think 1 jam?
