Misc Future imports?
Since we're getting some more goodies into the Canadian market, how likely do y'all think it would be to get something like this here?
For years I've been talking with my buddies how we need a 17 HMR semi auto rifle like this. First time I've really found one that fit my dreams 😅

Unfortunately, this is will probably be considered an AR 15 variant. And even if it does get sold six months from now, it will be considered a an AR 15 variant. My understanding is 17 HMR and by extension 22 mag are a little tricky to run in semi autos.

LAR-15M
The name is enough that it will never be given anything other than a prohib frt. Remember, the RCMP definition of variant includes names and marketing.

Yep. Blaze47 = AK .
Blaze with the same "AK" furniture that you acquire separately = "Not an AK".

That’s an AR15 lower so, no, it won’t be coming here.

Yet crusader arms is making one with a very obvious ar lower the laws are sooooo fuckin weird. Like from reading around it sounds like one of the loop holes to make it legal in Canada is have an 18 inch barrel idk how true that is tho

The "loophole" is that companies like Crusader arms are using a proprietary lowers and uppers that's basically 95% of an AR-15 Lower/upper but it might have a slight adjustment where there's a notch somewhere or there is a different lower and upper receiver connection method, such as pegs over takedown pins, that basically would not make it fit on a genuine AR-15 Lower/upper but otherwise for all intensive purposes is basically an AR-15. That's what the Crypto was.
This new one they're coming up with is basically the same concept but it using a modified Benelli M4 BCG, instead of an AR-15 BCG.

While we’re dreaming I’d love the Daniel Defense PCC for plinking and IPSC

With scorpion mags I believe? Would love one of their handguns too. Looks funky in a good way

I love .17 HMR I doubt we’ll see this. If pigs learn to fly, I’ll buy multiple.

Maybe a Canadian company could make something like it🤷
I would thing being a rimfire rifle would help things out with our ridiculous laws. Maybe not, but if a Canadian company could manufacturer some new, that doesn't fit in anything AR it would meet the requirements for Bill C21.
I'm probably just getting my hopes up too much because we're getting the Makasi and Carmel lol

What, you're not happy with the TM22? /s

I want Derya to make a 22mag TM22, and then add a top charging handle from thr factory too, then I'd be happy.
I did actually suggest it to then a while ago, they implied they're working on something in 22mag but I don't know what exactly it is, of course.
Still props to derya for making cool shit for canada still. I saw a Derya semi auto 12ga up for sale the other day for pretty cheap and decided to order it to try it, didn't know they made shotguns too.

Looks like a standard AR lower to me... Luckily for you there's no thought police yet!

Provost would be having a seizure if she saw this in one of our hands

She can have a seizure over the Mk15s and Carmels too. The more the merrier.
Hell, she'd have a meltdown even about the Tm22 and the new pump 9mm as well for being "assault rifles". They already made a fit about a pump 12ga with a drum mag, calling it an assault rifle (Canuck recon)

I'd love another .17 semi auto option. I loved my Keltec CMR30, WMR was a blast to shoot semi auto, HMR would be as well

My rule of thumb is;
If you have to ask, there's a 99.99% chance it gonna be prohib/not allowed

u/No_Praline_1835 Jun 16 '26
- Its ar style in semi thats not 22 or bolt action. Makes sense right. with the 2 new over priced 556 we are getting.

Likely to be prohib before they even get their foot in the door. If this could fit on a .17 HMR AR-15 lower/upper, I can almost guarantee it will be prohibited as an AR-15 variant.
