Feets / Collection / My build 1301 build almost completed
Just needs a black buttstock now. Going for the 2 tone. I'm really torn between pistol grip or not though

Kinda leaning that way, but I do like how quick and maneuverable a pg is. Definitely not as comfortable though

Pg is slower in nearly all aspects. Especially reloading. If it was faster competitive shooters would be using them

Nope. PG sucks for shotgun. Unless you have a mag-fed shotgun

Personally I find them to be more maneuverable around corners and cover. But to each their own. For every other situation I don't like them. It all depends on the use case

Lol are you going to be doing CQC in Baghdad or shooting a shotgun at the range?
They suck, its a mall ninja gimmick, you don't see Clint Smith with pistol grips on his shotguns lol.

Yeah i always find it humorous when people justify their PG's. Like if you just want it for the looks or you genuinely prefer how it feels then by all means go for it. But the whole "it gives me a tactical advantage " is such bogus.

The CQC thing is literally "I don't know why I want this, so I googled the advantages of it" answer.
The real answer is cosmetic larping, and that thats fine but from an functionality standpoint pistol grips are worse in every way, except maybe in if you need to hold a gun one handed with yout dominant hand, for some reason? Maybe breaching a door hinge? I don't really even see an advantage to it.
Building something cause you think it looks cool or it's fun to shoot its fine, but lets stop parroting these silly "tactical" excuses.

A sleeve over the stock might give the same feel with some shell storage and a cheek riser or something.

Both are on sale. I'd give my vote to gen2 mlok 1301 and s&j extension for less than the m4.

Nordic components MXT extension, it'll be hard to find but it's worth it. Thank me later

I actually had an optic on it and took it off to put it on one of my rifles. I don't mind relying solely on irons with shotguns

Is this the Slade Street heatshield for the Maverick 88? Any modification necessary?

It's made for the 1301. The one I got has 2 brackets on the front but you can only put the front most bracket on because the stock 1301 forend blocks the rear one, a ranger band hold the rear end (reciever side) down. The bracket on the front wasn't enough to stop the heat shield from sliding forward under the recoil so I stuck some hockey tape between the bracket and the barrel to add a little extra friction and compression which fixed that issue. Other than that, no modifications needed. Had one on there. Repurposed it for a rifle I bought cause it just made more sense until I buy another one

Have you gone through any professional training specializing on clearing rooms?
Are you daily using your shotgun to maneuver in life/ death situation?
If yes, I believe in you.
If no, I still think that factory stock grip is superior to PG in normal use

The only formal training I ever recieved was on the ar15 platform. For that reason I find pistol grips more comfortable to use. Some other users on here got very riled up by me expressing my personal ergonomic preferences so I'm not going to bother discussing it any further and seeing as this is a Canadian subreddit, there's not much point discussing home invasion scenarios either

There's a reason why top competitors don't run a pistol grip. Much slower for reloading a tube-fed firearm. They're also a pain for ergonomics when you've got a tang safety. Get good with the classic and you'll be happy you did.
Also, the heatsheild looks corny af on a 1301.

Been shooting since I was 5. I'm happy with my ability to handle a traditional shotgun. As far as the heat shield goes you can have your opinion. You're free to not put a "heatsheild" on your 1301. I prefer not burning my hands.
