Application / Regulation advice Cost/Time/Process To Become An Instructor - Ontario

I am wondering what the process and associated costs are of being an instructor with FSESO are?

I can see the requirements on their website, and I’ve met all those.

For those that have become instructors, how long did the process take and what did it cost in total (not counting requirements like pal/rpal)?

The FSESO only needs instructors for regions that are outside of the GTA, typically Northern Ontario, Eastern Ontario, and Western Ontario, where their current instructors are retiring. You say you meet all the requirements, but are you an instructor? What's your teaching background? You need to be an instructor with some kind of teaching background to prove that you will get the message across. It's not just about knowing everything that there is to know about guns.

Does FSESO even hand out instructor permits anymore?

Yes. I’m asking because a few people in the community have completed this process recently, and there’s still a perpetual wait list here.

It was paused during COVID, however it’s been like 5 years since that…
