Fix my gun Maxed out scope, shooting low
Installed 16 inch shaw bull barrel, went to shoot it this weekend and at 25 meters it shoots about an inch low from where I am aiming with the scope maxed out. I am assuming this is barrel droop and I am wondering what is the best solution?
Option 1: The magpul stock came with a barrel shim, I can use that to prop it up, might affect accuracy since it will no longer be “free floated”
Option 2: 20 moa pic rail to point the scope downward
Option 3: I also read about a upgraded v block but not sure if I need to file the barrel
Edit: I think the reason for it shooting low is the v block is over torqued and pulling the barrel downward, I will retorque and see if that fixes the issue

Just by visual inspection of the picture, the rear scope ring (closest to the ocular lens) is too close to the turrets, there must be atleast 3/8 - 1/2 inch gap/ spacing from the rings. (The further away the better)
This is because whenever rings are installed there is a little bit of crushing that happens to the tube/body of the scope once you reach 18 in/lbs on the cap screws.
But once you create that crush right near the turrets, the adjustments on the scope will allow you to turn the dials at the turrets, but will end up slipping internally to the scope.
Your best course of action is to undo the rings and move the scope rings away from the turrets, once done if the optic still does not allow you to sight in correctly, you will have to warranty the scope with vortex because it’s been ruined during installation. (Don’t worry to much, vortex will still warranty it for free even if you tell them what you did exactly)

If its on left to right then go shoot it at 50m and 100m and then get back to us.
Seems like you might be experiencing some height over bore issues.

Yeah, that front scope mount looks like it's an 1/8th inch higher than the rear.

Remount. If that doesn't work and you know the scope isn't broken, on the cheap I've cut shims out of a popcan to shim the scope on the mount. Has worked for years on my deer rifle .

Ahh. Thats what you meant by maxed out. Probably need that spacer on the stock then

I would try to take the rings off and start again making sure everything it level but Im assuming you've checked that
So next would be replacing the rail so it has A more room for the scope and B should be more suitably in line for a scope like that

I'd remount everything including the barrel. Also is that rail taperd like a 20moa or anything? could be on backwards.

Stock 0 moa rail, i think my barrel is over torqued and being pulled donwward

Your rear ring is too close to your scope turret body. Push your scope forward. Did you over tighten your rings? That could cause issues with your erector and maybe it's impinging your vertical adjustment.
You must really have long arms if you have that many spacers in your butt stock.

To shoot long distance look into a 20 moa rail. It adds MOA adjustment so you can shoot farther.

I'd bet v-bock.
How firm was the barrel shank going into the receiver? On a 10/22 style rifle, if the barrel isn't a firm fit, the v-block and pull the barrel down so far that you won't be able to adjust your scope to zero.
If the barrel was kinda loosey goosey going into the receiver, you may need to shim the barrel shank so that it's firmer and better aligned.

My first suggestion would be to start over and remount everything. I've had some pretty odd results in the past that have resolved themselves by remounting. If you're in the GTA, I'm happy to help for nothing other than the fun of trying to fix it.
