Feets / Collection / My build Obligatory post as a new pal holder
Just got my pal, bought this little turd the same day. FTE right out of the box, after a teardown and clean it's running good. Thankfully! Wouldn't recommend as a first purchase, anyone waiting for their pal, just be patient and buy a "real" gun.

Bit of advice, you should 100% expect issues from Turkish rifles if you don’t clean them first thing. They can come with some heavy oils.
If you get a new firearm, It’s just good practice to tear it down to learn it, and to clean/lube it properly. I don’t want to say it’s your fault, but most likely is. I received mine, and I cleaned it out of the box and I had very few issues, if any, with mine.

HV only ammo?

I’ve had great luck with standard and high velocity, as you typically should with semi .22s. It all depends, and varies per rifle, but I’ve had very few issues with mine besides user error or a stubborn magazine.

I couldn't agree more with what's stated above but I'm using 40g federal automatch rounds that seem to be running totally fine.

Congratulations! Now Get an SKS.
and if you like .22LR I suggest a TM22 flash (if you can find one) or the feather 🪶

Idk personally ran about 200 rounds of Federal HV 38 grain through mine out the box with 3 to 4 F2Es.
All my research and personal experience suggests Turkish Guns are really hit or miss. You may get one thats the quality youre looking for (lucky me?) Or you may flop and get a bunk unit.
Two buddies of mine each got the TM22 Feather a few weeks ago - waaaay more F2Es than my RF224.
Credit to Canuck that does both Quality Control and Warranty services in Canada, but otherwise you take your chances.

Did the manual say clean before use?

Haha actually no it doesn't mention anything about cleaning. 100% good to go out of the box. No matter how long it's been rotting behind the counter at your local canadian tire.

Nice gun I hope it runs well for you. What's next on the list I would recommend henry supreme or 1301 tactical

Adler rotary mags... 100%, provided adapter + 597 mags... 95%, Genuine 10/22 mags...0%
Not great paint, no BHO, runs 1000+ rounds just swabbing it out after use, tear down same pain as a 10/22. No mag loader. Surprisingly accurate with Blazer. Fits in a dresser drawer. Fun in an indoor range with a red dot. Can be repaired with 10/22 parts.
That said, get a 12" TM-22 if you have a bunch of Derya mags.

I paid $430 for it and despite harsh reviews of the Gen 1 version, it didn't end up being crap. A little disappointing that 10/22 mags don't work. The Promag 597s I bought needed exchanging, they were so bad. Anyway with them, just a stovepipe every once in a while. I didn't need or want a new orphan mag ecosystem and ended up with two.

This was the first one I got after I got my PAL. Didn’t even clean it from the factory. Just ran CCI MiniMags through it. Put about 500 rounds through it and didn’t have a single malfunction.
My only piece of advice is upgrade the stock; the factory one is a piece of shit. 😂
Enjoy.
