Feets / Collection / My build I Built a Bolt-Action MP5 (Canadian Legal)

https://youtu.be/LsjM8Jx5n54

You guys had a lot of questions about my Stowaway ‘MP5’ build, so I did a video on it. It’s ridiculous that this is what it’s come to

The manual cocking thing just ruins these guns for me .

And the ergonomics aren’t set up for it. Main reason why I haven’t gotten any of the maple ridge armoury guns. A traditional rifle feels a lot better ergo wise.

It's why I put money into a Henry over something like a taipan. If it's gonna be a manual centre fire, might as well be ergonomic.

Yeah I should actually look into those. I really like levers.

Cowboy gats are the way and the light

Henry fell off, qc is trash

They definitely had a dip during the period when they were relocating all their manufacturing. There was a good uptick of people have issues with their firing pins before they swapped to the single rod design.

Still better QC than some other vendors though (not that it excuses poor workmanship). Personally I've found Marlin to also make pretty solid levers but only Henry offers me a rifle that will let me use up my 223/556

Marlin for the win

Which also reminds me of the cooey days lol

That's my biggest issue with it. If it was cock on open or cock on close, I'd be more interested.

Same. I feel like they could do a magazine fed bolt action without the manual cocking and still be fine

I feel the same about anything fun but a 22 as well.

You mean a cope-action MP5

:)

more a single shot 9mm with a fancy spring loaded shell carrier on the side

Calling this an mp5 reminds me of those people who make fake shells of super cars and put them on shitboxes.

There 40% aesthetic similarity, 5% function.

u/Response-Cheap Jun 13 '26

You're not wrong. Difference is, it's the cost of super cars that make people want to imitate them with kits. If the government just outright banned all sports cars, seeing a Porsche body on a Prius would say less about the driver, and more about the oppressive government overreach.

Obviously this is an impressive amount of effort. But it's sad that this is the nature of Canadian YouTube gun channels. Fuck Trudeau.

Not just Trudeau.

This is a liberal cornerstone and Carney's the one doubling down again rn.

Neat, but definitely gives me TOZ-106 meme vibes.

man that would be an amazing gun to own, never found it anywhere

2

u/kwc_king Jun 13 '26

Amazing bro 🔥🔥🔥

Looks neat but dear god single shot, we’re going back to cooey days now lol I grew up on a farm and the cooey was our go to then (pest control and having to put down a cow) but I’d only ever want something like a cooey again just for nostalgia not fun or hunting

Must be a variant.  Banned, probably

it might be a cool gun and project for himself. But i don't like it personally. If we were allowed, I would just say get the real deal. But we aren't.

2

u/Horilka Jun 14 '26

I'm more impressed by filming, editing, gun modifications than by the gun itself that I would never consider. But I enjoyed all former. Great job, OP!

I appreciate it!

Could a gun you built ever be legal?

1

u/Dre_the_cameraman Jun 13 '26

Is that a restricted? Seems short. Also where do you get them?

3

u/gspotcowboy Jun 13 '26

Manual actions can have short barrels so long as the barrel was manufactured as such (i.e. not cut down) and they aren't under the prohibited barrel length which is 4.75" IIRC

Overall length is not a requirement on a manual action so long as it doesn't have a folding stock

1

u/BowFella Jun 13 '26

An airsoft MP5 might be closer to an MP5 than that

1

u/NIBLZ_HAMSTR Jun 13 '26

Look at what we've been reduced to... and that will probably still make a liberal pee their pants.

1

u/NIBLZ_HAMSTR Jun 13 '26

ITS A WEAPON OF WAAAAAAARRRRR!!!!!!

Fuckin losers.

1

u/julienjj Jun 13 '26

It's the single player version vs multiplayer.

''SP5''

1

u/Necessary_Field_8424 Jun 14 '26

First thing he said was it's a pistol. Good luck with that. So many more pistols I wish I could buy in hindsight.

This is a “lady boy mp5”!
Look like one, but feels different.

Neat

but so damn sad at the same time

Instead of saying "Canadian legal" the should say "soon to be illegal"
