Application / Regulation advice PAL Application - Photo With STICKER? on Back

I'm applying for my PAL. Just got proper photos taken. Now I am reading that I need to affix a sticker to the back of the photo with my name, my guarantor's name, and their signature. Do I seriously need to get a sticker made and then stick in on the back? Or can I just glue/tape it?

Label Instructions

  1. Cut the photo to fit the size requirements.
  2. Print your name and your guarantor's name on the sticker.
  3. Have your guarantor sign it and complete the Photo Guarantor section of your application.
  4. Affix the sticker to the back of your photo.
  5. Enclose the photograph with your application.

Emmm seriously tho it’s so much easier to apply online. I was told that mail in applications are processed much slower.

I heard that too but I submitted my paper work and exactly 40 days later I had my license in hand. Didn’t have to call or anything plus my paperwork was 12 years old lol

Didn't even take that long for mine, think it was something like 32 days. And that was even with confusion on my AB license as it cuts off a couple letters of my second middle name. Says Alla on my license when its Allan on my Birth certificate lol

Now that shocks me. I was expecting 6+ months just because I was 13 when I did the course and 25 when I submitted the paperwork. That’s actually why I had to do it by hand and not online

I was sorta in the same boat, did mine back in 2014 and got busy with family, work, multiple interprovince moves etc. Kept saying I need to get off my ass and submit, but I was under the impression I would have to go back to my instructor to get renewed paperwork (Coarse report with actual address) Called him up and he said to just do it online and the address didn't matter, just basically needed the number and his info.

I put it off as I was always too busy to hunt, but then I got into bow and crossbow for a few years and I wanted to get into more hunting so it lit a fire under my arse. Submitted this past January and had my PAL early February.

Since then I've bought 5 guns mostly for hunting but did buy a TM22 as a range/plinker. Ill likely grab a couple more by years end before I start slowing down and buying unique guns id eventually like to have such as a 45-70, 410 revolver, 38/357 lever action, and a semi auto 12ga. Have to buy a 308 and 223 bolt action next before the would be nice for the collection guns

Sounds exactly like me for buying guns lol, I immediately bought an 870, sks, tm22 and more recently picked up an enfield, semi auto 12ga and this morning bought a .223 bolt gun on gunpost lol

I was told the same thing. Filled mine out online. And it was super quick and easy.

At 21 days now so we shall see how quick it is.

Its super quick if all your references do their part and there are no errors on anything that confuse them.

Small difference on my DL vs birth certificate held mine up a bit but still only waited 32 days

I applied on the Friday.
By the Monday all my references had submitted their side. I called that CFP # and the person I spoke to confirmed I had moved from verification to applicant and gave me a new reference #.

So I’m hopeful! I just want it before summer ends

Is that for your rpal? I just have the NR and they never even contacted my references

Just my PAL. I will do my Restricted later, I figured it would move quicker without it. When my buddy did his 2-3 years ago I was contacted And they contacted him when I applied. I figured that was standard.

They contacted me when my buddy did his rpal and he had to send me a code they sent him so I could log into the website. My guess for PAL it depends on how the normal background goes and whoever’s doing it at the rcmp that day 😂

I had to send my inlaws a code for my PAL, but being in thier 70s and not computer people it was a bit painful for the week they took to actually get it done.

I filled mine out online, by basically end of day same day my references all signed off as well as my photo guarantor. They mailed it out on day 29 I had it in the mailbox day 31.

Hilariously I’ve had the card in hand for over a week and they still haven’t updated my CFP portal past the application accepted status.

Apply online take a picture against a white wall and send it in. Takes maybe 30 minutes to apply

When I did mine many, many years ago at Staples, the lady at the counter stamped the back of the picture with a fill-in-the-blank signature space as I told her it was for PAL application.

I got mine done at a London Drugs in January this year. I did also apply online but they also gave me a stamped one and a link to download the photo.

The sticker was included with the paper application at the end of my RPAL course. You could probably just write that info on but YMMV.

Do the online application my friend. I’ve known two people who’ve had massive delays from the paper form.

Yeah I didn't even know it was an option. Went straight to the 5592e form and it doesn't say that I can apply online. It discusses being able to renew online, but I'm not renewing, it's a first time application.

I dunno 🤷🏼‍♀️ my friend and I applied at the same time, hers by paper, and mine online. Hers took like 6 months for some reason.

My coworker’s husband never got his back.

Meanwhile another friend who lives in my subdivision applied at same time as me online and ours came in the mail days apart.

This was about 2 years ago for reference.

I filled out the little square on the paper forms, cut it out, and then used a glue stick to stick it to the back of the picture. Worked just fine twice now. (Was never eligible to apply online but you definitely should if you’re able to)
