Crown land to shoot on in Squamish ?

Looking for a good spot to target shoot on in Squamish bc. Are there any good spots to check out that are within a 30-45 min drive from the area ?

As long as you got a 4×4, and don't mind a bit of hiking, you can always go up the Mamquam FSR. Just gotta find a flat cleared area that's against the mountain. Make sure you clean up after yourself too. Some of the more popular shooting spots got shut down because people kept leaving shit everywhere

Yeah don’t do this unless you find a rock wall to shoot against that you’re certain will not be approached from the other side. Join the Squamish Valley Rod and Gun Club if you are from the area and want to target shoot instead. It’s worth it.

Far too many people using the Squamish and Mamquam valleys for other recreation these days making it just plain unsafe. Even if you think you’ve trekked deep in there, chances are there’s somebody around the corner or uphill of your “backstop”. I’ve seen it all back there - people shooting across valleys, or at knolls in front of mountainsides in the backdrop with other recreationists, even shooting straight up at me as I’m coming down the mountain because they think it’s a low-traffic FSR… And yeah the amount of trash left behind and general disrespect shown by a few shooters is leading to areas being closed off to firearms discharge.

last time i went to mamquam i picked up hundreds of red shotgun casings that people left, when you go just make sure to clean up not just your casings but other peoples stuff too

Careful in the bush. I've had guns pointed at me many times driving around corners there. There are a few safe spots but is all shit compared to the gun club.
