Feets / Collection / My build Refinished my dads WW2 cooey model 82 with a custom stock.

Post image

Just refinished my dad’s old cooey trainer rifle. Its a sweet little rig for sure. One thing me and my dad have been wanting to do is mount a scope on it. Only problem is, it has no current way to do so.

If any of you know some different ways of mounting a scope on the model 82 please let me know.

Any questions you have about refinishing feel free to ask!

The barrel looks in great shape. What was original condition and what did you do to restore it?

Honestly it was pretty rough, covered in rust. I did the best I could but I expect it to peak through again at some point.

Keep the barrel lightly oiled ... maybe store it in a gun sock?

Honestly in my experience gun socks tend to hold a lot of humidity (moisture), it ends up rusting some of the rifles I have over time. Definitely gonna keep it oiled for sure.
