Second option.
If needing some more long range holds the āChristmas treeā type reticle is fine as well.
But that first one is just needlessly busy

Iāve always liked the aesthetics of the first style a bit more, but as far as using personally Iād have to go with #2. I like simple things in my line of sight when shooting, I feel like the first might just distract me.

Honestly the first one is an abomination. I presume your subtensions are in moa? If theyāre in mils youāll need more info inside the circle for precise wind/elevation holds. The diagonal lines just add clutter and give you no more info than having a dot at the same place where you have a hash on the diagonal.

First one has to much going on. As someone who shoots PRS thereās just to much going on. I would be able to spot impacts as easily as I would with the second reticle.
Also the majority of people will dial for wind so I think the diagonal lines are kind of pointless. I canāt imagine someone holding up 12 and right to the diagonal

The vast majority of people dial wind in their scope instead of hold over and up in elevation

Not sure where youāre getting that info but the vast majority of people shooting PRS dial elevation and hold wind. Source: me, Iāve shot every incarnation of PRS for the last 10 years š¤·š¼āāļø

Well source also me. I dial elevation and wind. But Iām more specifically talking about a Christmas tree reticle where you would hold for elevation and wind age. Think a tremor-3 reticle.

Well Iām telling you that outside of specific stage conditions (single target, multiple position with stable wind or a mover stage) most PRS shooters donāt dial wind. I dunno why you bring up a Tremor reticle, they arenāt super common in PRS anymore but even the guys that run them mostly dial elevation and hold wind. 90%+ of stages guys will dial elevation and hold wind. Sometimes tight time constraints require holding over (or no touching turrets stages) but even that isnāt super common. Where do you shoot matches and how many have you shot? Or maybe youāre talking .22 PRS?

The first option has potential on an ffp optic where the circle would slide down to a smaller cqb reticle but otherwise its pretty busy, while not offering much real information.

The first one is to tell you where the Mig fighter is going to be, so you can shoot it down with your scary war .22 rifle

Definitely the second. I'm not sure what the diagonal lines on the first would be good for, the use case would be extremely specific at best.
Also the numbers on the second one don't scale the same, the vertical ones should be half of what they are to match the horizontal ones.

I really dislike number 1 it's sure for a lpvo as you kinda have a donut of death going on
Second one provides a cleaner look with more effective holdovers

2 is much cleaner and more intuitive imo
