Buy recommendations Is it possible to ship this to Canada?

Prophet River carries some of these. Nine35 has longer ones of various calibers. Both are Canadian outfits.

Their website and eBay.com do not ship to Canada. The only options are a Canadian retailer, or eBay.ca. If I’m wrong by all means please tell me how because their own website usually has a couple models not offered on eBay.ca.

Are you sure their website doesn't ship? When i priced things out, their website let me choose canada and put in a Canadian address! I never did actually buy it, but it seemed to ship to us!
Edit. Entering it again, it still seems to allow canadian shipping! Quotes me 22 usd for shipping cost

You were right, wow! (I couldn’t wait lol) I think what happens is I hit “C” for Canada but it stops on Cambodia. Even when I changed it to Canada it pops a message about no shipping options but I checked everything again and clicked okay again and it took an order!!! I splurged for 450 bushmaster and 30 carbine just now. I have an insane collection already and now I’m down to just three calibers I don’t have: .32, 17 hornet and 17 hm2 lol. Now that I know they do direct I’ll probably grab those if they come back in stock. 🤓.

QqThat's awesome!@! What do you shoot them out of?? I've been tempted to buy myself a cheap little single shot hort barrel to use with adaptors. Or get a shorter over under, and be able to use it as a shotgun, use it as a combination gun with a shotgun barrel and an insert in the other, or even put 2 inserts in it and have 2 calibers to shoot!
Also gotta ask, what are your favourite calibers to shoot with the inserts?? If I did it, I'd likely only get a couple of different calibers. Maybe start with the ones I already own and go from there
I keep looking at their 410 to 9mm adaptors. I have one of those 410 revolver shotguns. To bad those inserts in particular don't have any rifling at all. Even a bit of rifling would make me feel better about it.

I’ve got an altobelli trailhand 9.8” and a Charles Daly 101 14”. I’ve debated getting double barrel as well. Having an external hammer plus separate triggers would be cool. My favourite 12GA insert is probably .45 colt , and my favourite .45 colt insert is .38 special 😆… federal .38 shoots beautifully from my sulun sr-45. With these inserts I always put a box through them to try out when they come to me 😆

Oh I have so many more questions now after you answer!!!!
The Trailhand is probably the one I've been considering the most! I like Tactical Imports warranty, they have already done me right by sending me a new cylinder for my Sr410 when the factory one was too tight and kept getting shells stuck!
So I take it you like your Trail hand and would recommend it??? Or is the Charles Daly a better gun?
And then I gotta ask about the 38 special in your SR 45! Shoots good? Is it still somewhat accurate? Do the inserts have rifling? I'm mostly looking at a the 410 inserts for 9mm for mine, but I've also considered. A 45 insert and a Dremel to slightly open up my old cylinder since I do have 2 now. And then any other inserts for your sr45??? Thank you for all the info btw!!

The trailhand is an extremely cool gun! Having an external hammer gives it a slight edge over the Charles Daly 101, and of course it’s an excellent platform for caliber adapters being so small. The only downside is shooting 12GA from it is really harsh. For shooting .38 with the little .45 caliber adapters, yes, at 10-15 yards the sr-45 punches paper as well as how I can shoot with a handgun and no keyholing. I’d say .17 HMR and .22 MAG are the two worst calibers for keyholing with a shooters box adapter. With my most recent order I’ll be at 19 different 12GA , meaning I can shoot 23 diff calibers out of my trailhand. I also have three sets of 5x .45 colt: 9mm, .38sp and .22LR/L/S .. so I can shoot 8 calibers from my SR-45. the problem I have found with my SR-45 is I get light strikes .. federal 38 special has soft primers though so I can shoot a box of 50 and only get 1-2 light strikes. (And then I can always switch to 12GA to reshoot those if I want) The last time I shot my sr-45, I was actually getting light strikes with sellier & bellot .45 colt when shooting double action which was pretty annoying. I prefer shooting single action because the trigger weight is extremely heavy on the SR-45 and I just don’t like giving up what feels like accuracy to just shoot a bit faster , but still I don’t like it happening anyway. I’ve got a tiny stockpile of different kinds of .45 colt and .410 to play with next time I shoot it. If it keeps light striking i might make an inquiry to TI about troubleshooting. For your case , the .45 colt adapters have a comment about them not being for .410 but I’ve been wondering if some brave soul might try anyway, because they are cheaper than the .410 ones , plus I have heard of people shooting .45 colt from their .410 revolvers 😆 I’d probably splurge for the .410 adapters myself if I only had a .410 because they’re longer and presumably ever so slightly more accurate. Go for .38 special over 9mm though because of that primer issue, I’d suggest. I’m a bit of a chicken / noob. I haven’t shot my 45-70 adapter yet and after reading the nine35 blog I’m even more paranoid. Maybe I’ll set up a remote shoot in the bush to make sure lol. Oh one more thing, I’ve found the cylinders on my sr-45 are a bit tight too. After shooting a bunch of .410 the ejection becomes a bit sticky. Some rounds of .45 colt don’t slide in easily either so I set those aside to shoot from a 12Ga adapter instead 😆

Really great info!!! It's interesting to hear that the 38 special adaptors are better. But I'm also glad because I already have 38 special, where as I'd have to buy some 9mm ammo if I got the 9mm adaptor.
Only downside is I think the 410 only comes in 9mm or .380, so I'd have to use the 45 adaptors for 38 special and just have to adjust my cylinder. Or just pop them in, i feel they would be extra tight, but since I have the 2 cylinders, I don't care if they get stuck in the extra cylinder. Better if they stay, so I can just aim the gun upwards after shooting and get the empty shells to fall out!
If I do order them though, I'll for sure post up here on how they work! I got access to a little 25meter range that would be perfect to test these

Ahh darn I thought they did have .410 to .38, my bad. Maybe there’s a type of 9mm ammo that has soft primers, I’m just not aware of one? If you’ve got that spare /defective cylinder I’d definitely try to aggressively polish the chambers to see if you can get it back to usable! In a month or so when my most recent order of adapters come in I’ll probably make a post to show off my crazy collection lol

Super broke, don't want to save money, want a single shot .22 and already have a shotgun?
Love your shotgun's handling and want to fire every caliber out of it?
Hedging against ammo scarcity, but don't want to buy a gun or barrel/action for every caliber?
Training trigger pull on the cheap? (The laser trainers are better for this imo)
Bought a weird gauge shotgun and now want to switch it to a smaller caliber?
There's lots of reasons for caliber conversions.

In the 1800s it was very much about training, which is kind of funny given that pistol inserts did change how you handled the action lol

The most powerful 12Ga ones I’ve shot are 20ga and .50AE. Reading the nine35 blog makes me scared to try 45-70 😭

Just shoot a .22. This could damage your barrel and wont be accurate at all.

I cant see how it would... if it fits and youre firing regular .22lr, it wouldn't even touch your barrel... and its not like a shotgun is a precision instrument.. even if it scuffed a couple of inches of barrel, thats where the shell sits...

I'm also curious about the purpose of this.
I can't imagine imagine a .22 fired from essentially a 2" barrel inside a bigger and longer barrel is accurate. It seems like it would exit the 12ga barrel like a single super low velocity pellet of No4 buckshot, and have roughly the same accuracy. Plus, 12ga is already pretty cheap.
I'm really struggling to think of a reason to use this.

.22LR pistols with 2" barrels work just fine. Same concept as firing a deringer that is break action or something where you have to manually remove the spent casing after each shot. See my other comment above for some of the many reasons caliber conversions are a thing generally and these ones just happen to be 12ga. Luckily on a shotgun you don't need to swap the barrel or action so it's easier/cheaper to switch calibers.

Most pistol calibers are surprisingly accurate. The worst ones for accuracy are actually rimfires I feel like . They can tumble and keyhole on paper .. your grip and posture can actually make a difference on the accuracy too

This is literally a rimfire insert. Except instead of having a proper length barrel with rifling it's a 2" barrel.

Shooters box adapters are not super accurate, even the rifled ones, on this i can totally confirm. For me personally these are really just a novelty.
