Gun and gear reviews Budget .22lr lpvo
looking for a budget lpvo was originally planning on getting a reddot with one of those flip up magnifers but i would like something where i can just control the zoom was looking at the vortex brand they seem to have alot of different options and im not sure exactly which one to choose if anyone has any experience with them let me know.

Seconded, it also has a comically bright illuminated reticle so it's almost like a red dot at 1x.

Vortex isn’t bad I have a venom red dot and venom scope but in my opinion now Leupold is the way but most likely overkill for a 22 they do have rimfire options just not sure in LPVO. I only have a riflescope on my ruger precision rimfire and it’s a bushnell trophy, I also have a bushnell red dot that I don’t use anymore it just collects dust. I’d never buy bushnell again rest of mine have irons or red dots

Arken EP8 is very good for the money and being FFP would be good for a .22.
Here is a review from a very qualified reviewer on it.
Otherwise, if you’re looking at vortex the venom LPVO is also quite good value.

Vector’s Continental line arguably had the best glass (schott glass iirc), for 400-500 CAD. Quite a few reticle options too. Focustripp and C_Does both’ve videos on it. The 1-8 from what C_Does says is better than the 1-6 if you’re willing to cough up the extra hundred.

I bought the firefield rapid strike 1-6 on sale for $200 from cabelas. Threw it on my 30-30 and have had zero issues. It also comes with a few nice accessories and cantilever mount.

Highly recommend. I was actually quite shocked at the build quality. A couple scratches in the finish on the caps but it’s worked and held zero getting tossed around

If looking for a cheap one, there is Victoptics.
I have their 1-4. Cost about 140. They have a 1.5-6 that's slightly more expensive, and a 1-6 that's more expensive still. For a cheap optic, it's been fantastic for me.

I go off aliexpress to be honest. Their Shipping fee is high, but their prices are good! Makes me wonder if part of the price is moved to the shipping fee to make it look cheaper. But whatever, good price for them!

For a .22 anything will work really. Don't go spending the value of your gun on an optic to shoot 22lr at 50m lol, pretty pointless.

Even that's more expensive than what you really need haha. These scopes are mass produced, $30 from China. Buy 10 of em for 300 dollars + shipping and resell em for 120 a piece.
Only thing you really need to look out for for Rimfire is AO (adjustable objective) lens. It'll help you eliminate parallax errors. People who think Bushnell or Vortex aren't made in the same $30 a scope factories are kidding themselves

Unironically yes lol
Most "airsoft" scopes are rated for minimum 700g shock rating, an SKS has like 550g of recoil shock. 22LR is like... I don't even know, 100? It's negligible

I’m planning on competing in a 50yard competition so I don’t know if I really need ao or not

Sometimes you will find "Rimfire" versions of scopes that have fixed parallax settings at 50. Most non-adjustable objectives are set to 100 yards. So, I'd recommend either adjustable or fixed Rimfire set at 50. If you don't adjust the objective for a shorter range your reticle will appear too far left/right depending on your head position.
Personally if I'm just screwing around I'd just say screw it and deal with it. But if you're competing you might want to look into AO more.

Honestly have gotten most of my recent optics off there... Victoptics sells on their official store their and makes good ones. They are more popular in Europe I believe.

Bushnell R5 1-6 is an excellent affordable choice, recently they could be found for around $220, not sure what they're going for today.
