Aguila 308 junk?

Anybody else having problems with this ammo? Had two different 308 bolt action rifles try to fire this stuff and it won't ignite the primer on either of them. Rifles work fine with other ammo.

They definitely look like light strikes, but given OP tried the ammo in two rifles that leads me to think it's the ammo. What brand rifles were they OP?

I think aguila somehow slipped up and made this lots primer cups out of adamantium

Savage Axis and my buddies Mossberg. We were shooting other ammo just fine.

Like, I know savage is not the “best” brand and I don’t know much about mossberg rifles but I know mossberg’s basic firearms lines are not exactly premium either, but both of them having trouble firing is still weird and probably the ammo.

Oh sorry! I read the comments first lol. I thought accuracy was the question. If you tried the ammo in two completely different firearms then the ammo has to be the problem here. There are light primer strikes but I see a couple that definitely should have gone off

The axis has a pretty rough action when new but is generally a pretty accurate platform. Ive run 5 different axis rifles over the years, from the axis 1 to the axis 2 pro, and they have all been capable of sub moa accuracy with factory loads

Did they put surplus primers in them or something? I've only ever seen light strikes like that trying to run military surplus in a hunting rifle

Also I tried their warranty claims service and after a month of back and forth they ghosted me.

You can only expect so much from ammo that's half the price of everything else.

That being said I just put 100rds of Aguila .45LC Cowboy loads through my lever and it was surprisingly consistent.

Aguila 22 LR jammed up my gun really quickly, it was running super dirty. Changed ammo and no more problems

Aguila is junk besides the brass, comparable price to federal which is good stuff.

those light strikes, can i assume all 3 rifles you shot these out of were push feed? It may be likely that the ammo is a little out of spec and being pushed too far down the chamber, i say this because back when my M1 Carbine was legal i shot Aguila 30 carbine alot. and it held up just fine. And since Light Strikes is usually due to the Rifle not the ammo, my only theory is because it failed in 3 rifles, that all 3 were push feed and they maybe got pushed too far down the chamber? Then again the light strikes i see, may simply be a bad angle on the picture.

Yeah maybe they were a few thou out of spec. Might have to get out a vernier tommorow and measure the case

Just use S&B literally budget ammo with that performs well all round. Wouldn't suggest their 7.62x39 though, everything else is good.

308 PMC Bronze FMJ-BT are a great option. I have never had a dud and are sub-MOA accurate at the range

I've shot only a couple boxes but they've all went boom. Only issue I had is they werent very accurate.
