Caution: Increase of Reddit Admin Actions/Activity
TL;DR: Admins feathers are getting ruffled. Stop posting links to guns and gun parts, be mindful of edgy jokes, otherwise Reddit Admins man smack you with the ban hammer, and there's nothing us subreddit admins can do if Reddit admins ban you.
Full: Hey, everyone! I'm just writing this post as the mod team has seen a nearly tenfold increase in Reddit Admin actions in this sub in just the last week alone.
First off, you may be asking, "What the hell do you mean by "Reddit Admin actions"?". Well, as it may imply to some, it basically means Reddit Admin gods giving us their blessing condemnation of certain users and sending them straight to hell Reddit jail for prolonged periods of time, or even permanently.
Most of these Admin actions were triggered by users posting links to sites that sell guns and gun parts. Now, that's already against the rules, and we mods remove it under rule 6 when we see it or when it gets flagged/reported, BUT, even though you get the message that "mods have removed your comment", your comment is actually still "live" to Reddit admins if you don't manually delete the comment yourself.
We had an recent bizarre example where even though us subreddit admins took enforcement action against a user for posting links to gun ads 11 days ago, Reddit Admins notified us TODAY that they "removed their comment" and suspended their account, even though it was already removed by me literally 30 mins after the user commented the offending link.
We've also seen other bizarre enforcement actions from admins, targeting obvious jokes within our community, with comments such as:
"You won’t take my tim cards and now you insult me on Reddit, f* k you too and s *k my nUt filled cheeks".
and
"U SHOLD NOT HAVE GUNB BC GUNVS ARE BADD AND IF NOONE HAS A GUNT EVRY1 IS SAFE OVIOUSLY CRIMINALS R GETTING GUBS FROM LEGEL GUT OWNERZ SO U NEED 2 GIV UP UR GUNZ FOR NO $$$ BC IT’S THE RITE THING 2 DO IF U WAN OWN GUDS GO 2 USA!!!!1 COPS R RIGHTWING FASCIST THATS Y THEY DONT WANT 2 HELP W BAN!!!111. ONING GUNBS MAKES TEH CHANCES OF GETING SHOOT BY GUN GO UP 1,000,00000,000%!!!!1111. Y WOLD U WAN 2 OWN A GUM JUS PLAY COD OR SMH LIEK 4 REAL!!!111"
being removed by Reddit Admins days later and having the users' accounts suspended.
So please, be mindful of what you post/comment. If Reddit Admins think it's "edgy," spam or trolling, it's possible Admins may smack you with a ban hammer, and if they do, WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER IT. If your content is removed by us for violating sub rules, please consider deleting your comment so you don't get smacked by Reddit admins days later. These rules are here so that we protect you from having your account nuked.

Owning guns in Canada and politics go hand in hand. Typically gun owners are more conservative on the political spectrum. Where have you been the last 50 years?
The admin actions are ridiculous. I once got a 3 day ban for making a joke about petting a tiger's belly on reddit awww (like why friend shape if not friend type deal, nothing weird or mean).
Man if you say one thing slightly out of line with the echochambers politics you get the ban hammer. It's how I got banned from the Alberta and Edmonton subreddits
I got banned from there years ago. Anything critical of the liberals or further left will get you banned. Pretty much one of the Trump subs but based in Canada on on the other side of the some issues.
Yup. You can trash Toronto on the Toronto sub easier than stating a dissenting opinion on the Ontario sub. Don't care, no loss as it's just an echo chamber.
Getting banned from r/ontario means that they can't dispute your opinion, but it doesn't follow their groupthink and political propaganda. Their ideas are so weak that they can't permit anyone to discuss them or think about them, because then everything falls apart
Their AI tools aren't that smart, either, and it isn't limited to this sub. I answered an ask reddit post the other day asking about the worst movie you'd ever seen. My answer was a movie from the early 90s starring Sylvester Stallone and Estelle Getty. Filters caught it and gave me a three day ban for my troubles. Unreal.
I’m afraid to even recount the incidences of my various automated bannings in the big front page-type subs like that but if it makes you feel any better there is eventual human oversight to at least the permabans. About a week later you may get an “I’m sorry we got it wrong” message lol
I doubt very much they even check their AI-based short term bans like 3 or 7 day.
Reddit mods are finally realizing that the culture war is turning against them. The very existence of this sub is a threat to their entire universe. Therefor, they must manufacture a reason to destroy it.

Keep price out of it basically. If you bought a TM 22 from Rod's gun store for a sale price of $900, you can just say "I bought my TM 22 from Rod's gun store for a good sale price". That usually keeps the Reddit administrators from having their AI flag it as a transaction.
Sounds like your taking about Kingston lawn and tractor source, but i didn't think either sold guns/ammo, do you mean the one on highway 2 or highway 9.
The fact we're even "allowed" to have a sub on an admittedly left-leaning website is frankly amazing. I've received perma-bans on other subs here for WAY less offending comments. Comments that are, here, just part of normal banter.
Try starting a pro gun thread on Rabble or Bluesky. Yeah, I don't think so lol.
Reddit is a liberal haven. You say the word Indian, banned. You point out anything in society that points to India, banned. I’ll probably get labeled racist and have my account banned just for posting this. I can’t stand Reddit.
