Buy recommendations Glass Recommendations for an Ultra-Light .22?

Post image

Oh wise reddit sages, lend me your knowledge.

I'm trying to decide on an optic for this little beauty. Started considering Leupold® VX-Freedom 2-7x33mm but I think I've settled on the VX-3HD 2.5-8x36 CDS-ZL Duplex, unless you heros have an alternative.

I was considering the vx3hd because it's dead simple and very light. This platform only weighs 3.5 lbs, so I'd like to complement it with light glass.

Use case on this one will be mostly for the gf to plink, she thinks it's pretty, but it'll also larp as a shtf small game hunter. Figured it's light weight will be a benefit if you're half starved. Bonus, about 200 rounds fit in the hollow stock.

Budget isn't really an issue, and can go up a bit if the value translates.

Waddya got??!?

*UPDATE After doing more digging I ended up ordering a Tract 22 Fire 4-12x40 AO EFR T-Plex Dot with Warne medium steel rings. Reviews put it at least on par with the Leupold freedom line's glass quality, only 16 oz, has adjustable parallax, quick reset turrets and the owner is awesome / easy to reach and gave a 5% discount because it was my first time buying with them.

Could probably save an ounce or three with different rings but I'm not going to split hairs as the platform will still be under 5 lbs

Probably a prism or a Lpvo of choice, feel free to look at primary arms and Athlon. There's also much nicer options but don't think it's worth it

I don't think LPVOs are generally known to be lightweight.
