Misc Deactivated firearms question

Hi there, if i wanted to get a deactivated firearm, are there extra steps i need to go through ? On collectors source, they got brens and type 56s aks on there that are deactivated. Thinking of purchasing one sometime. Any replies are great, thank you

Pretty sure you just buy it and ask for it to be deactivated. Once that's done, its no longer a gun, just a hunk of metal.

Even if it's a hunk of metal, it's a cool piece of metal to have.

Well actually its a slightly more useful hunk of metal, cuz depending on the deactivation (and the rifle) you can still keep/remove the mag, sights, stocks, etc. Anything not welded.

But yeah what I meant by hunk of metal wasn't an insult, it just means it is treated legally the same as a hunk of metal (which means nothing special)
