Feets / Collection / My build Muzzle device recommendations

Post image

I'm wanting to put a muzzle device of sorts on my TM22, just something that looks cool or badass. What are y'all running?

Maybe once I get one I'll take a new pic with those toes out for ya! ๐Ÿ˜‰

The only thing that would remotely make sense is a fake reverse can. Any muzzle device on a 22 is purely for cosmetic reasons

False, broaden your mind ๐Ÿฆ—

1) Crown Protection - a simple flash hider like an A2 will save your crown from damage in case the rifle is ever dropped. It also reduces the chance that a full bore obstruction occurs if the muzzle contacts dirt (ie crouching while rifle is sling).

2) Shot Timers - those of us running drills with shot timers can benefit from a muzzle brake. It makes the report a fair bit louder, whereby making life easier for the guy holding the timer.

3) Increasing Weight - I like to beef up my tactical 22s by adding a flashlight to the forend so they are closer in weight to a centrefire. A heavy fake can could be used for this as well.

3) Tuners - Folks who compete in precision shooting or just enjoy heavily accurizing their rifles may add a tuner which can help tighten groups and increase consistency of results.

Edit: Be advised stubborn fouling will accumulate quite rapidly in restrictive muzzle devices such as enclosed brakes like S&J linear comp. For this reason I tend to stick with just an A2 for crown protection.

I run drills with shotgun and 22 4 times a month and have yet to have any issue with my shot timer registering the shots once. The TM22 does come with a protector for the treads from the box. Putting anything on it is purely larp and thatโ€™s okay nothing wrong with it lol

Good on you for running drills, I like to hear that. Seems you're a tad resistant to learning new things though which will inevitably hold you back eventually. Please just try to reduce spreading blatant misinformation. I provided 4 valid reasons for running a muzzle device on a 22LR beyond aesthetics and you're still doubling down on the wrong answer.
