Funny enough it wouldn't work since they banned Huawei lol

I actually knew quite a lot of Chinese people in my neighborhood who use the new generation Huawei phones. Kinda wish I could afford one

They're not banned as a whole, only their 5g tower equipment for fears of spying for the Chinese government.

Banning things can be good sometimes. Fuck Huawei big time. Remember the 2 Micheals?

Remember the 2 Micheals?

You do remember why they were detained, right? Canada arrested Meng Wanzhou, the CFO of Huawei at the request of the Americans.

Meng is apparently a Canadian PR too.

In the end, Trump and the Americans leveraged Meng to get a trade deal, and mysteriously all charges were dropped. Canada was thrown under the bus.

Spavor in particular is a Kim Jong Un fanboy, lots of pictures of him partying with the Dear Leader, he's not some random Canadian, neither is Kovrig for that matter.

I think the big problem is most people thought these 2 guys were just random Canadians. They weren't, as you mentioned.

They arrested 2 low level spies because we arrested 1 high level spy.  She was kept in her multi million dollar home... they in a 3rd world prison cell.

Inb4 she just cfo... she was nabbed with multiple passports. Ccp citizens are only allowed one.

Retaliation, therefore fuck Huawei/China. My sympathy for a Kim Jun Un fanboy is minimal, it's the act itself that I despise. When Carlos Ghosn was arrested, how many (however despicable) Japanese did France kidnap? None, and I don't comment "Fuck Renault" on reddit.

Ok.. now you are defending the crook responsible for nissan cvt shitboxes.

If we're going to be condescending about this, I'll phrase it like this:

Do you know what the words "extradition treaty" mean?

Also, your simple term example is dogshit.

Assault style phone. Banned, these things can fire 7 trillion rounds of .50 calibre .22lr per second. Too dangerous for us plebians to own, only our oh so perfect infallible martial institutions like the military and law enforcement should be able to doomscroll and text on these weapons of war

Dont forget, this will be sent to Ukraine to help them because they absolutely need this and will utilize this.

The crazy thing is the .22 plinkers genuinely could be probs useful against the shitty Russian body armour. I’m joking, this idea is so fucking stupid it’s insane. But “slava Ukraine let’s get these assault style weapons off the streets am I right guys?” I think as a society we should gather the entire liberal party and ship them off to the moon where they can make their gun free prison colony utopia, maybe give them a couple of Ukrainians to make them happy and give them company

Dude I’m just imagining Nathalie provost hanging out with an AZOV nazi, man the “big tent” liberal party is quite something huh

Well if it had wood furniture, then would it be so dangerous?

Checkmate, Liberal

It’s still a fully semi automatic AR47 machinegun weapon of war!

Not ban but should be in restricted due to short length. You might need ATT from your authority (wife) to go out alone with it.

With upgraded optic, it could be used to (photo) shoot families, shoot the kids, shoot the dogs, shoot the cats, shoot your truck etc

It could be used in massacre and dump the bodies in sewers if you watch inappropriate contents without your partner

Yes, it is dangerous

Prohibited, it’s a variant of the PS90 / P90, this does not qualify for compensation, please head to Gary’s nearest landlord owned apartment for confiscation and a yelling from Provolone.

I had a p30 pro it was great. My wife still has her p20. It is dying an isn't able to do most things. She's is being stubborn. Not allowed to get new ones anymore

If you live in a part of Canada that has a lot of Chinese immigrants, you can see if anyone is selling a newer generation Huawei phone on Facebook marketplace. They're also available on various importer websites, but everyone likes to charge an arm and a leg for these phones.

Which way modern man. Spied on by CCP or spied on by American Mag7? Look into Motorola / Graphene OS if you're actually looking for privacy and security.

2

u/IronLover64 Jun 08 '26

Motorola is Chinese

Yea hardware supply chain compromises are still potentially very real even if the software is clean and open source. Not much you can do these days. Hopefully "nothing" phones get graphene support someday, many limited independent options around.
