Misc They say everything turns into a ar15 like crabs
Obviously not a ar15 but this cope is similar enough.

u/BrotherLefthand Jun 05 '26
With none of the reliability of an AR.

u/Kid-On-Reddit- Jun 05 '26
Im sure Crusader is rushing this on the market without any testing at all.

People complain about reliability but that takes time. Time that firearms manufacturers don’t have because for any design to be financially viable it has to hit the market asap so they can recoup costs before it gets banned.

Who would buy this over the MK15 when it hits the shelf considering the backland doesn’t even have an frt while the Makasi does and is a much better plateform for a similar price

You’re not teaching me anything. It does prevent the RCMP from simply banning it themselves without an OIC by declaring it prohibited by FRT tho

Why would anyone give these guys a dime at this point. Their QC is shit. We now have the Makasi and the Carmel coming. They're probably in a panic knowing they aren't gonna have a chance anymore

u/lettelsnek Jun 05 '26
already time for another low quality poorly designed cope rifle 😞

I still think it's cool to have the extra options. Seems like the regular Backland Hunters have been selling well. I actually did see someone on here a few weeks ago saying it seems CA has fixed the initial QC issues with it
That said, it's basically priced the same as the Mk15 and Carmel, so I'm going to go with the Mk15 as it has quite good reviews.
I do hope CA stays in business though, because I don't want to see any more Canadian gun companies go out of business.

After the disaster that the Backland hunter was it's nice to see that Crusader arms has the balls to keep this as the same price as the Makasi or Carmel.
The magical ingenuity they have to jerk themselves off while pumping out broken guns worth a months salary to scam customers.
With rifles like the Makasi, Carmel, and widely available new tactical Alcor. Crusader arms is going to be left in the dust unless they start pricing their guns reasonably at $5 with the $0.75 they spend to make them

u/snakeleather45 Jun 05 '26 edited Jun 06 '26
If ones monthly salary is 3k, they probably shouldn't be buying this pile of shit anyways.

u/BowFella Jun 05 '26
Obviously an exaggeration but even half of that is highway robbery for anything from them
2
u/Dill_Pickle_Tears Jun 05 '26
My only pushback is I’d probably take this over the alcor.
Not sure just how much better the alcor is at this point in the game given the marginal improvements they’ve made with the Gen 2 parts upgrades in the BH.
Plus, I’d prefer a Frankenstein-15 over a tactical fudd rod. The R1s and BARs of the world appeal to the aesthetics I’m looking for over the alcor in that sense.

u/BowFella Jun 05 '26
They sell a new trigger guard for the alcor that lets you take AR stocks and grips. They also sell new alcors in this configuration. So it's actually more ergonomic than the Backland hunter. I'd rather take the cheaper, more reliable rifle that fills the same roll.

u/Dill_Pickle_Tears Jun 05 '26
Yeah it’s a good point. Don’t get me wrong. I honestly want to own nearly all semi centerfire rifles I can get my hands on, starting with the better quality offerings with the Makasi, Carmel, Garand, R1, etc. but I do have plans to do an alcor build.
I just think it’s hard to justify either of these rifles with the Carmel and Makasi. Since you’re nearing a similar cost for those guns if you’re kitting out the alcor. With the backland I’d definitely agree the reliability is booty cheeks. Aesthetically though it’s near the top. I just don’t like the tactical alcor unless it’s got the full fox operator upgrades.
I don’t like the Kodiak or crusader stuff. My ideal build is the OG walnut buttstock but an AR magwell and fox operator or aluminum m-lok hand guard for that “fight lite at home” sort of look

I appreciate Crusader continuing to put out rifles in the current shit-state of this country (and the Backland Hunter I tried was surprisingly precise) but it won’t make much sense to spend $2200 on one of these when you can get a Carmel for a few hundo more.

u/Ok_Competition6823 Jun 05 '26
Who is taking this cope over the makasi or the Carmel? I rather get one of those
3
u/King-Conn Jun 05 '26
Why would I get this over the Carmel I have ordered?
I'd rather have a much more reliable plinker, and peace of mind if SHTF.

I've been in the firearms owning game for a little over a year. It's been with some fascination I've observed Crusader Arms' business model and gunners' reactions to their product releases.
Their ethics are dubious. Their product quality is dubious. Their product support is dubious. The enduring legality of their semi-auto releases are always dubious. Contacting them is dubious. They have no direct online presence which in this day and age is downright cowardly. Their manufacturing site is practically anonymous.
My question is why bother with them on any level? Why do people keep going back to them?

u/MourningWood1942 Jun 05 '26
Mostly lack of options
But now there’s more options coming so yeah I agree

My $2200 on this would go to the Carmel or Makasi instead, since really it s a $200 difference.
That said, it’s kinda neat looking.

u/No-Inspector6242 Jun 06 '26
So far the sks is cool enough for me but having accuracy in a semi auto for cheap would be amazing but yeah that's not gonna happen. Anything that hits the market and is semi auto will have to be overpriced because these companies need to get back on their feet somehow

Bro this is just a Crypto with a Benelli M4 stock 😭🤣...
I mean hey, people can shit on Crusader Arms all they want, and rightfully so, but you got to give it to them, despite all the fucking bullshit from Poly and the LPC clowns, they're trying their hardest to keep AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE AR15s in circulation as best as they can.
Every other Canadian manufacturer basically gave up; Kodiak Defence, Wolverine Supplies, Black Creek Labs, ATRS. They're all done trying to make AR15 alternatives.

Fool me 3 times shame on me or something like that......
Not going to buy another firearm that is just going to be put on "The List" in a few more months.

It does look like that. I think they used Ai to make this so there are weird artifacts. If you go to my page u can see the non "sketched" version.

Wonder if they rushed this and slapped it together like the other smegma they push
They know the Carmel and Makasi are arriving shortly
They need to sell as many of these cope garbage rods asap

I'm kinda pissed tbh I remember when crusader said "WE WILL NEVER MAKE THIS GUN AGAIN GET IT NOW" boy do I feel ripped off got the first gen backland with second gen guts after stuff broke. Should've waited for this but how could we have known lol

How does this differ from the crypto
1
u/Kid-On-Reddit- Jun 05 '26
Benelli m4 buffer system and modified bolt carrier to support it
1
u/itsmeAG32 Jun 05 '26
Interesting, maybe if they made look more like the crypto and a 308 I’d consider lol but in today’s time that might not even be possible.
1
u/Kid-On-Reddit- Jun 05 '26
Look into the Adler ad500. Heard some conflicting information about the gun but follows a very similar design philosophy as the crusader backland
1
u/itsmeAG32 Jun 05 '26
I’d rather have something Canadian or American if that’s even possible lol, who knows maybe more guns will be available for target shooting.

u/Stare-Indecisive Jun 05 '26
AR looking magwell is the weirdest flex lmao
