Ruger Gen 2 Scope Selection

Heyy everyone. recently picked up a gen 2 in a 6.5CM as my first ever rifle. Looking at adding a scope onto it now and looking for recommendations. budget is about $750 max (still need to get rings with it). I’ve come across the Burris® Fullfield E3 and the Vortex® Diamondback HP which caught my eye. Anyone have experience with either and can help out with some insight or other recommendations?

Will Be used mostly for hunting with the occasional day at the range. I live in Alberta, Canada and I’m told the 4-16x is the sweet spot for magnification and also I’m not a fan of super busy retrials and prefer simple ones which the 2 I pointed out are.

Look at the crossfire hd in 4-12 in person versus these two. The new crossfire hds kick the snot out of the diamondback line(and i say this as a retailer who still has diamondbacks to sell). We just started retailing for burris and i havent the selection of them yet to compare but those new crossfires from vortex are pretty good bang for buck for budget scopes.

They will perform identically in the real world. I’d go for the vortex and use the savings on a high quality set of rings.

I have the same gun set up with the 4-12 vortex scope running on vortex pro rings. I personally love vortex because its a no questions warranty which I have used a few times.

If you're eyeying the crossfire line I would be looking at the updated Crossfire HD line; those should still come well under budget.

Personally, I'd probably take a look at gunpost or sales(retail) on the older Viper line stuff.

The Vortex is made in China, the burris is made in the Phillipines.

The cheapest vortex scope made in the Phillipines are the viper lines. Which are usually $1000+

Both companies offer repair or replace forever warranties for damage or defects.
