Is the 1851 an antique? I would love to own one some day, its been a dream of mine to have a cap and ball revolver but I can't find them anywhere. Not sure if they're even legal, but I would assume they are since other antique handguns are allowed.

It’s a Pietta (modern replica) which would make it a restricted modern handgun unfortunately. Only frames physically manufactured prior to 1898 are considered antiques, modern reproductions or subsequent production runs into the early 20th century are considered modern handguns and have no special status.

You can certainly acquire an original Colt, but you’ll likely pay 3-4 times more than what a replica would cost.

hehe, a colt is about $2500 now, my pietta was $250

Google old guns canada. The website deals primarily with antiques and reloading kits for them. Warning, they are not cheap. Other option is to keep an eye out for auctions.

Love my pietta navy colt puts a smile on everyone's face shooting it and it is surprisingly my most accurate handgun. Just a pain in the ass cleaning after a trip to the range

I've got a pair of black powder pistols like this (44 cal). The most fun guns I have. Nothing like a thick cloud of smoke hanging in front of your target making it even harder to hit. What I love the most is how little recoil they have. I also don't use two hands. Ones enough.

I need a full Kadet, with a frame. I’m hoping IRG can help with that…

Edit: for those downvoting, I have my Olympic exemption as I am training to compete in ISSF 25m pistol competitions. You can find old CZ 75 Kadets that were sold as 22lr pistols, it’s not a kit.
