Buy recommendations Derya TM22 Pro 12" or 16"

What barrel length would you recommend for a Derya TM22 Pro 12" or 16"? 18" is out of the question.

I want to plink/target practice up to 100 yards and hunt small game like grouse and pigeons. For hunting, I’d keep shots under 50 yards, but realistically most of my shots would probably be under 25 yards.

I plan to throw on something like a cheap 4-16x44 scope. I'm wondering if that big of a scope would look goofy on a 12" barrel. Also wondering how much practical difference does the extra 4” barrel actually make for effective/ethical accuracy and velocity at ~50 yards.

A 4-16x44 will look extremely goofy on a tm22 12” ahah and the weight ratio will be completely off. I would recommend a 18” or 20” tm22 if you want to throw on such a big scope 👍

I have found that the 16” barrel with a red dot and magnifier is great for raccoons and most other small game, under 50 yards.

1-6x24mm or 2-10x42mm-ish should be plenty to satisfy hunting at 25m and plinking up to 100m with a semi-auto 22lr.

. Barrel length won't matter for those distances, I'd personally go for the shortest one. Longer barrels are quieter though.

I'd go full star wars and get the 12 inch with the big scope! It would be unique then !!!

There's a video on YouTube of a guy with a stupid long barrel and he cuts it little by little measuring the balistics. The difference is negligible. I think 14" was the point were you saw the perfect short barrel length(IIRC). But 12 dint loose enough velocity to deter me I'd do the 12 personally. I bought and 18 and I"m hoping to get a 12 inch barrel for it.

I would get a 10/22 with 16-18" barrel if I planned on doing any hunting outside of 30yard range plinking.

I won’t recommend hunting with these but 18” would be a much better option

Is the 12 or 16 still non restricted? It’s under 18. (Sorry not a .22 guy)

Yes, length is only applicable to centerfire semi-autos.
