Fix my gun Lost bolts/screws for S&W M&P 12

Not sure what happened. I went to take it to the range last week and I noticed that this part was rattling. The 4 bolts that hold it place are gone. Can I just order the screws and put it back on or I have to bring it to a gunsmith?

It's worth noting that I hardly used this thing at all. Like 50 shells. This should not have happened with such little use.

The screw on my (back then) brand new 590A1's rear ghost ring sight got sheared off after light use. Everyone claims that thing's supposed to be indestructible. My point is, shit happens.

. Try contacting the store you got it from, maybe they can provide replacement parts or put you in touch with someone that can help. Sorry for your loss, you'd expect more from a firearm at that price.

That's certainly how I feel right now. I got Turkish clones at a quarter of the price that's outlasted this thing.

Yeah QC is a lottery. I'm assuming recoil blew yours out or something. If you don't really need to take them out, consider using Loctite to keep them secured when you find a replacement.

That's a great idea actually, thanks

Make sure you do your research on the type of loctite to use. I also recommend folks "witness mark" the fasteners. It allows you to easily notice if they start loosening. All that being said, it's definitely bullshit this happened with so few rounds fired.

I'd contact S&W to get the specs on the screws. You can likely replace them yourself without issue unless they're unique/specialized in some way. I bet they'd ship them free of charge too though if you'd rather wait.
