Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

Technical recession 🥳🎊🎊🎊🎉 lets go babyyyyy, only nation in g7 to be in one! get those elbows up higher for a full blown recession into a depression! 2 billion on a gun buyback? Fuck it! Lets go for 4 billion, its all worthless money anyway! Double this shit and pass it on babyyyyyy 🥂

That's exactly what I keep saying. we have realistically been in a recession for about 5 years. GDP growth has purely been from immigration, despite us all getting poorer 

Interesting note, I was talking to a guy from Africa at my work, only been in the country for 3 years or so, and he actually feels very let down by Canada. Everyone in his home country thought Canada was a great place, that hed live a good life here, and he says he has been incredibly disappointed, and even working full time in construction, he has to have a second job at night in a kitchen just to get by. He feels like he was lied to with the promise of Canada 

His goal now is just to save up $50k to return home and start a business, and leave Canada. It was amazing how let down and disappointed he was, after thinking Canada would bring him prosperity. He actually said he felt wealthier living at home in Africa because at least everything was cheap there. Pretty amazing to hear that first hand.

He even said to me that he thinks our immigration system is crazy! And that we're letting way too many people in.

He was actually quite a conservative as well in his beliefs, and thinks some of the stuff going on in this country is batshit crazy. It was a very interesting chat.

I use a cab to get to work where all of my drivers are immigrants and hear this same thing from a lot of them. Two of my drivers from Sri Lanka have already moved back because life was too expensive here. The ones who came before 2015 all say life was much better before the Liberal's
