Gun and gear reviews CZ Trail .223

I like this thing a lot, especially with the stock replaced. Only shooting at 20m but for me that’s a pretty good group, (20 rounds). Really need to find a spot to see how that would translate at 100m or more.

Only gripe I have is that it will not feed from aftermarket mags, no issues with the CZ mags. I have 4 of the CZ mags so not a big deal, kind of annoying though.

It likes heavier ammo, 55g doesn’t group well, pretty much just shoot PMC Xtac 77g OTMs now.

Running Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8 LPVO, G-Ten pictanny stock adapter, Midwest Industries folding stock, Surefire war comp + blast warden

Mine has fed from every mag I’ve thrown at it. Cross mags, p mags, etc

On mine the bolt hits the feed lips and anything aftermarket, tilts the whole mag down/forward, so the round doesn’t want to chamber. I looked to see if I could adjust the mag catch height but doesn’t seem to be possible

Hmm that’s weird, I’ve literally not found a mag that it won’t feed from. Wonder if yours has a defect somewhere 🤦‍♂️

Mine will only take plastic mags, none of my metal LAR mags will feed at all, but my pmags, CZ mags and cross mags all perfect.
