Misc I screwed up

My original gun build plan was a tikka ctr truetimber 6.5 creed 24'' from cabelas and a cadex field competition chassis. I bought the chassis as a special order yesterday only to find out that the tikka ctr truetimber is soldout in the country.

Now I can only get the 20'' ctr which is 100fps less than the 24'' and I am mad at myself. Does anyone know where I can get a tikka ctr 6.5creed in 24 inch barrel?

The T3X Super Varmint has a 24” heavy barrel and muzzle thread. May be worth checking out if you cant find the truetimber

thats 2400 dollars compared to 1550 - 1750 for the ctr tho

I plan to use it for prs and long range plinking at 1000 yards ish. I couldnt find a varmint that wasnt in stainless and that would look pretty awkward in a bronze chassis.

If your using it for that you don't want a hunting profile barrel, so starting off with a hunting rifle was already a flawed start. Either get a t3x varmint, or the ace target. Then your idea of velocity is also a bit flawed, a 20-24" barrel is not going to have any practical difference in prs with 6.5 creedmoor. There is also no such thing as free velocity as you are saying below, everything has a tradeoff and in that case you are trading bullet weight for velocity which is a totally different thing.

really the barrel length becomes about balance and mobility trade offs with PRS.

For a PRS only gun, i would be looking at a heavy barrel, 6mm r700 platform
