Milsurps / Prohib Good idea or not worth it?
Have one sks with the bad ace micro dot mount with holosun 507c thinking about setting up other sks with scout scope
I’m guessing the most obvious draw back is accuracy with sks and weight

If you can't use dots for whatever reason try a prism. I think a real scope is just way overkill for a 3moa platform.

I have the rail that runs from the dust cover to rear sight. I Run an LVPO and love it Limb saver for longer length of pull and a leather cheek riser. I just hand feed it to reload

I have the badace dot mount and its fantastic. Super solid. If that's anything to go off of I'd say this one will probably be good.

This one's nice because you can reverse it if you decide you just want a red dot and would like to use stripper clips again. For the price difference with the smaller mount, I'd get this one for the increase in options.

I’d recommend only upgrading to peep sights. Cost, profile, durability, reliance these are a winner https://www.tech-sights.com/sks-products/ If worry the scope is too heavy for mounting to the action. I feel like the red dot or prism sight would be better. If you are thinking of a light weight or lpvo it probably could work ok. I would worry about it holding zero

brotha, when you have a 3<MOA gun. The scope is useless, you might as well go to irons or red dot or acog type scope with barely any zoom. Trust me when I say that if you drop your gun with a scope it will 100% be off target after. Even with the great mount that's a lot of leverage with the scope. Plz do yourself a favor and use the stripper clips so you can enjoy the beautiful clicks of each round entering the magazine😌. You won't need the brass detector if you use a red dot btw

bro I tried mounting a optic.... But the guns less accurate than the optic lol as I said I guess. I just put the irons back on lol

I'm one of those elitists that says there is no such thing as a good no drill mount for the SKS. Side mount or stick with iron sights.

I have the Madwedge, it runs from back to front, it kept zero good enough, but it does block the use of stripper clips which is unfortunate.

I just installed one. Looks and feels solid. I don't have an optic for it yet. Anyone have any recommendations for a cheap, small red dot that won't interfere with the brass coming out?

I bought their steel red dot mount and the install was easy. Was very impressed with the quality of the product, high quality hardware even send u a torx driver for the nuts and loctite. However i am losing my zero with a holosun optic. I only took it to the range once, shot perfect, almost too well, then the second clip it was off by like a foot up and to the left. Maybe i didnt tighten it enough but i thought it was solid 🤷♂️

I mean sks accuracy is pretty good considering it has like 3 moving parts and was made in stupid quantities with ww2 technology. I think with that scope mount you would still hit what you need too lol.

I, hey! I machined some parts for that company back at my old job! I remember knowing more about Pic rail spec than my supervisor, and him not believing me when I said Ace had the dimensions wrong. Likely it was close enough that it didn't matter in the end, but I like to think it did. The ones we made weren't for the SKS though.

I said earlier that I made some parts for these guys and I found the proof! The part was called M3896, and I made and deburred a LOT of them. And I hated it. One guy ran the first operation on a 5 axis machine, deburred nothing and broke no edges before handing them off to me to load up in a 3 axis machine to finish it off. I remember having to debut the parts just to get them to fit in my fixture. Bad memories.

Their red dot mount is 10/10
