Fix my gun Tm22 Light Strikes
I recently purchased an 18inch tm22 pro. But I’ve been having a hell of a time with it.
First time shooting I was getting a light strike every other round probably 50% failure rate.
I broke it down fully cleaned and oiled everything and took it back out to the range and I’ve found I’m still getting light strikes maybe 20% of the time which is better than 50%. I inquired about warranty service but that’s shipping on my own time and quite a long turnaround through SFRC.
Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with this? I’ve thought about cutting maybe a coil or 2 off the firing spin spring to make it easier to move?

Try removing the left extractor first, it may help.

Ill have to look into this, does the left extractor block a full strike?

I don't know the specifics, but I had a ton of failures to extract with mine and a few light strikes but after removing it it runs smoothly. My guess is that it's just not seating fully so you're not getting a full strike, but that may not be your issue so I can't say for certain.

I had this issue with my TM22 18 inch. CCI Minimags for the first 750-1000 rounds and make sure it's super oiled up, it likes to run wet. Also make sure the bolt guide rod is sitting properly.

Had same problem, except it was like 99% light strikes. Ammo brand didn't matter, removing the left extractor didn't seem to matter (although I did it anyways), and the loonie fix. The thing that fixed my light strikes was cutting the spring, although I found a similar sized spring and cut 1/2 rings off at a time.
Don't bother with warranty anymore, try tinkering with it, and I'd say worst case take it to a gunsmith before SFRC

How do you find your reliability now and how much did you cut off the spring?

Are they real light strikes or is the hammer not cocking? I had the latter issue real bad at first and I think it was because I was running bone dry

Real light strikes in fairly certain im inspecting each cartridge and it’s got a strike it’s just not deep enough to go off on the ones that light strike.

Same with mine. They go when you feed them back in. I had assumed it was the aguila ammo I was using.

That Aguila is the dirtiest ammo I've used. Gave me failures right away. CCI blazer ran 1000 rounds without any issues. Try cleaning and lubing the mag follower.

Same problem on mine. Sent it in for warranty repair - paid shipping and waited 3 weeks. They polished the bolt and replaced the extractors and extractor springs.
One range trip since getting it back and it performed just as poorly. Gave it a full clean and will give it one more chance before complaining. This gun has been nothing but problems

Extractor
Then check the bolt face / firing pin
I know you cleaned it, but check for gun or obstructions

My 16 pro has ran flawlessly for 500 rounds. I’ve got a tm22 lever action aswell and the first 300 were great last 200 had at least one light strike per 15r mag not as big deal on lever just cock hammer and bang away they go. I noticed though the ones that were light striking also didn’t chamber as easily. That being said I ran brass brush with lots of clp in the chamber and now I noticed it chambers every round way easier. I think it had fair amount of gunk in chamber I haven’t been back out to test but I’m confident it won’t light strike anymore. I’m running federal ammo aswell. Good luck!

Send for warranty. You have the same problem I did. Mine needed the bolt carrier milled

I ran 160 federal american eagle through mine this weekend and had 2-3 light strikes. Then I did like 250 cheap Remington Golden Bullet and had like 20 lol... i wish mini-mag was easier to find right now

My 16" TM22 Pro was also doing light strikes. It turned out that the bolt guide rod and spring were out of true because of a loose receiver bolt on the top-rear of the receiver. This allowed the rear of the guide rod to rise perhaps a half millimeter. This caused the bolt to tilt ever-so-slightly downwards when it would make battery with the chamber.
After a frustrating wave of light strikes, I disassembled the receiver by removing the top pic rail cover, removed the guide rod/spring and bolt, cleaned and lubed the bolt block edges where it touches the receiver, and reassembled, making extra sure to mount the bolt guide rod/spring securely into its notches, and that the receiver cover/pic rail are securely tightened down over top.
Voila. The TM22 Pro now runs like a pro.

p.s. I use CCI mini-mag round nose, Aguila Super Velocity round nose, and Eley Force round nose. All of these run reliably in both my 16" and 18" TM22 Pro's.
I do get occasional cycling issues when I use hollow point versions of the above or any ammunition. Methinks the hollow point gets hung up on my feed ramp. (Perhaps some feed ramp polishing with a Qtip and some Autosol polish will make my TM22's like hollow points more)
I do get failures to feed with CCI Stingers and their slightly-longer cartridge cases.

loosen the barrel nut and the set screw and make sure the barrel is seated far enough back into the receiver. A lot of these turk guns dont have great QC and the barrel can sometimes be half a millimeter out causing the bolt to not properly press against the rim firm enough making the pin have a light strike.
Had this problem myself, upon giving the barrel a shove and a re-tighten it started working just fine.
