Feets / Collection / My build 12" TM22 arrived today

Got my TM22 12" barrel today shipped from Firearms Outlet Canada. Managed to get out to the range and put about 160 rounds of CCI Mini Mag 40gr through it. Only a couple of failure to feed towards the end.

Lots of fun. Nice and compact

Finish is Burnt Bronze

True north arms reverse faux suppressor with break (you need to remove the cap inside the handguard to make the suppressor fit)

I just picked my 16” up a couple weeks ago put about 150 rounds through it and had about 30 failure to fires haha

I did a bit of research and it seemed the CCI .22lr minimag 40gr were considered one of the better rounds that had fewer failures. Some stuff I saw online said once you get through the break-in period (200-300 rounds) the rifle can be a bit more forgiving on what ammunition you put through it. I can't attest to that yet tho.

140gr would be super low velocity. It’s the weight of the bullet, not the powder charge.

I've worked my way down the pyramid from mini mags to SV to Blazer with no real faults over about 3000 rounds now. I tried a box of greasy as F Norma-Tec for shits and giggles and had at least a stovepipe per mag. I think TM-22s like dry lube.

The norma tac 22 is super accurate in my cz457. Never used it in a semi auto though.

Same here. Its performance is on par with most entry level match ammo. I think it’s made by RWS. My 457 and Christensen shoot 0.3 moa at 50 yards. I’m genuinely impressed.

I’ve only done the federal auto match and the norma. The normal performs a lot better. I definitely notice the lower velocity at further ranges though.

The TAC-22 exhibited no enhanced accuracy on either the TM-22 or a 10/22. I got it more to try on my 457, hoping it might be a step up from CCI SV.

I hope it works for you. It’s amazing. The only downside is the oily lubricants. I had to bring a rug when shoot that ammo

I had issues with Norma tac with my TM22 as well, but light strikes. If you popped the round back in it went bang the second try every time, but I struggled to get through a mag without a failure or three

Mine hates CCI. It runs flawless on the bulk golden bullet though.

I use federal auto match 40 grain and it might have 1 failure every 50 .

Did you clean / lube it? I’ve had almost no issues so far with the 18” version, 30 failures sounds like a lot. Had like 1 failure to feed in probably 750 ish rounds and that was likely mag related. 30 out of 150 I’d be pissed

Not the person you're replying to, but yes, I cleaned and lubed mine. The manufacturing quality on these rifles is low, and while some people will be fine, others will have tons of issues.

I was getting a failure to eject nearly every 3 rounds, with a few light strikes. Ultimately I resolved my issues by removing the left extractor.

My 18" was the same at first. Could hardly cycle at all. Now it never fails and isn't picky on ammo.

First time I shot mine I shot like 40 rounds and had atleast 10 different ftf or fte. The 2nd time I shot like 250 rounds through it and had maybe 6 of either. Hasnt even been cleaned yet. I'm quite happy with that.

Remove the left extractor. Mine was a straight pull until I did this and now its one of my favorite range toys.

Ive got both.

The 10/22 is great since it as reliable as its reputation says, and its extremely accurate (for me) out of the box. Unlimited aftermarket options for all bits and pieces you can think of.

Tm22 is a ton of fun, it scratches that cope itch of not being able to take the other rifles out, and mine seems to run flawlessly and eats any ammo i through at it. But, its not nearly as accurate as the 10/22, i wouldn't put anything other than a good red dot or a cheap lpvo on it. Not much other than oem replacement parts, but lots of 3d printed furniture available. And, as all turk rifles, its a total gamble in the first place if you'll even recieve a functioning rifle haha.

I think any .22 mag is a pain in the ass to load. I 3d printed a speed loader which helps but it's still annoying especially when you're constantly loading 10rd I know there's 15s and 25s but I like how the 10s look with the sleeves

10/22 is significantly more annoying imo because of the rotary design, and as a result, I haven’t really seen any consistent speed loaders that work with it.

I believe all the TM22 tubes are commercial-spec, not mil-spec. Commercials are getting to be a pain in the ass to find here, since mil-spec has become the standard in the west.

This is literally the first time I've used PETG-CF bought the roll off Amazon specifically for this purpose. We'll see how it holds up

For what it's worth I had to bang it on a hard surface to bet the bottom plates to slide on. It's a really snug fit and it didn't break. Haha

Did you have to take that cap/support out of the end of the handguard to get the reverse can to fit?

Yes. I haven't noticed it effect the stability of the hand guard at all either. I think because it's so short.

Yeah I just pushed them down with the hex key that comes in the box it didn't damage it so you can put it back in if needed

I’ve put about 300 Aguila interceptors through mine (40 grain LR) with maybe a half dozen failures and 1 Squib.

I tried 100 CCi Blazers (40 grain LR) and about every 3rd round failed to eject

Pretty tight for me. Just 100 through so far, and no fails on CCI mini mag.

Side note:

I jumped online today to put it out there into the world that the buffer tube fix with a toonie can have you end up with the centre of the Toonie punched out and floating around in your buffer tube.

Not a big deal and an easy fix next time I'm near my spanner wrench. But I didn't see others online talking about it so I thought I'd drop a few comments on the internet for others to find.

I printed them with PETG-CF with a file I found via Google. You can also buy them from places like Tommy enterprises.

Looks great. I was unsure on the 12" models as they showed a super short handguard but this looks a bit longer than the stock website photos. Kinda wish I ordered one, but I'm sure they'll bring in more. I have a 16" Pro in tan already that looks somewhat similar to this. 

Those mag sleeves look great. I think I have the same one but without the window in it, I find these mags line up far better than some of the other options on the market, and line up better with the mag well, vs some others that hang out a bit and dont quite look right.

Sweet looking rifle! I may end up having to grab a 12", but I'm trying to avoid spending too much until my Mk15 arrives! Tempting though.

I printed them myself from a file I found online (very easy to find just by typing tm22 mag sleeve .stl) I believe the file is free to use but it's licenced against reselling so I wouldn't be able to sell them myself. You can find something similar at Tommy Enterprises or you can get a bambu A1 mini on sale right now for less than $300 and a roll of PETG-CF off Amazon for $30 and go wild printing all your own parts

Stupidest thing but I had 3-4 FTE every single mag with my 18” tm22. I took out one of the two ejectors and I just ran over 350 rounds without a single issue. It loves federal auto match for me and nothing else

I'd have to measure it I'm not sure. But to be honest that front cap makes no difference to the rigidity of the hand guard as it's so short.

How were you able to fit the reverse can? There are threads in the barrel that would stop the fake can from going all the way thru.

There's valid reasons for doing so beyond aesthetics. Primarily getting the mags to actually sort of fit within stanag mag pouches if your practicing shooting and relapsing in kit (chest rig, gun belt, etc).
