Shooting Some love for the Chiappa model 1887
Nothing super special today, just wanted to showcase the Chiappa 1887 in action with some buckshot and birdshot.
For those who are interested in the pistol grip version, the only thing to be aware of is that the pistol grip is MUCH beefier than say a shockwave or cruiser grip (and therefore isn’t the best perhaps for small hands).

Sick. Besides T2, there was one in the original COD modern warfare 2 as well. Was a favorite of mine back then.

Oh yeah, you hit the nail there, my most used shotgun(s) in that game were the 1887s. One was also used in the Mummy 2 (I also have a MAS 1873 revolver which Brendan Fraiser used in the Mummy as well).

Same company, but different model (this one’s just their case colour hardened version of the rose box one. Didn’t come with a rose box however)

Top (open the lever, push down past the follower into the tube mag), then one in the chamber and presto

You can put another one on the elevator so it becomes +2 instead of just the usual +1.

Gorgeous gun and despite how silly it is, definitely worth every penny. Happy we can still get these in Canada as of right now

Bootleg model 1887's are a lot of fun, if I get the 22" Chiappa one day, I'd like to source it a grip to have both stock options. I find it definitely feels a little more clunky without the third point of contact, but very handy and a unique experience for sure! My favourite gun to shoot.

If you have the woodworking skills, making one wouldn’t be too too difficult for the 1887! It’s a little more straightforward than say an 870 or 590

I wouldn't say I do, ha ha, would honestly probably be worth it to me just to get one that fits it right if possible, and be done. I could give it a whack but I suspect it would take longer than I would want it to to get right!

Was curious if these are any good. Always loved the 1887 and debated doing a “space cowboy” build with one. But did not know if the clones were any good.

The Chiappa clone, while a little pricey, is definitely worth it. It is pretty stiff out of the box, but those shots are probably only the 30th or so rounds and already it’s running smooth. Never had a problem to extract either, except for some very mal-formed really really old buckshot I tried once (those also jammed in my mossberg 590). You do have to cycle it like you mean it for the extractor/follower to work correctly, but again, after a mere 30 or so rounds, super easy to do as you can see
