Feets / Collection / My build I'm back in the family.
After all the announcements, I decided to sell everything I owned that could be touched by future bans because I can't afford loosing such amount of money. I sold my beloved M1 Garand, my M1 Carbine, my many sks, my Beretta 1301 pro competition , etc.
Got lucky to sell the m1 Carbine in time since it then got caught in the OIC. But I regretted every single one I sold.
Then, after few months of reflection, I decided not to let the liberal government control me with fear. That is not the way a democracy should work. It should be the government that should be scared of the People. So I decided to buy another Sks and be back in the proud Canadian family of sks firearms owners.
I chose a beautiful Chinese Type-56 M-21 French tickler Sks.😍
Next, finding another M1 Garand in God's Caliber.
Heading to the range tomorrow!
Go out and shoot!
Cheers!

The welcome mat is the winner here.
No shame in what you did. I pussied out on a Type 81 SE because I figured it would get banned. Not all of us can tie thousands up in paperweights and want guns we can actually go use.
Congrats on the new rifle!

Sold for over 15k. I manage to afford buying them slowly. But being told the next day that I couldn't do anything with them and they were worth 0$, that I couldn't afford.
It is so wrong In so many ways.

Good now buy another one. SKS's are social creatures and get lonely

u/Disastrous-Panic-87 May 22 '26
🤣 it ain't lonely. It is with my Russian TT-30 and Russian TT-33 tokarevs.

Thats the french tickeler right? I love the ribbed grip

u/Disastrous-Panic-87 May 22 '26
Yes the french tickler but a more scarce version with a stamped "M-21" marking before the serial number

Honestly, it might be a good thing you don't have all the guns. Now you have some liquid capital and such.
But having an Sks is still cheap enough to not be the end of the world if it gets banned. Unlike those who have multiple thousands of dollars in guns that got banned.
I'm kinda in the same boat in regards to the end result. I don't own any guns that are close to the ban chopping block other than my Sks. I might add a semi auto shotgun to the mix, but I'll pick one cheap enough that it will be OK if it gets banned.

Got a friend who has 46 000$ worth (buyback prices) of firearms that were banned . That's a hard blow.

No kidding... 46k could do so much for my family.
Like power to you if you have enough assets that 46k is a drop in the bucket, but for me it would be very reckless and a disservice to my family to have that much money in something that can easily be banned and taken away

u/Disastrous-Panic-87 May 22 '26
Exactly why I sold everything.
But it felt wrong to have to do that ...
2
u/Iokua_CDN May 22 '26
Oh absolutely wrong to have to do it.
The whole thing is wrong. But I get anyone who has to be smart with their money. Keep a few fun guns that you can afford the loss of and then also enjoy collecting some lesser risk firearms as well

Went to the range yesterday and it was a blast! It ran flawlessly and was more accurate then I expected from a sks!

Pussy. Tf cares about a liberal law. Its like banning alcohol, we’re gonna have handguns back because liberals don’t outnumber us

u/Disastrous-Panic-87 May 24 '26
You.dont know Everyone's reality. Calling a person you don't know a pussy just because he sold stuff is as idiotic as our liberal government.

u/justinoff May 24 '26
Youre the 2% that actually was scared and listened. Everyone else just ignored it like the prohibition of alcohol. Fyi you’re the minority

I didn't submit any firearm to the buyback.
I sold everything to others that may decide to keep them because I knew I wouldn't afford to not subscribe to the buyback .
So no, I am not part of the 2%.
You proved my point by being wrong again. Your just a judgemental idiotic person who talks about stuff he doesn't know.

The 2% is compliance. Not the percentage of buy backs. Its not even October yet and you definitely complied with the law 🤡
What don’t i know? Please inform me of your spinelessness

2% is people who submitted "willingly" their firearms though the web portal of the firearm buyback for maybe a financial compensation.
Not people who surrendered them already. Almost noone did yet.
And I have not subscribed to the buyback. I didn't "sell" my guns to the government. I sold some to people who wanted to buy them.
The buyback for individual is now closed. Yes, the 2% were firearms declared to the compensation program. This has nothing to do with the amnesty ending at the end of October.
October 30th is the end of the legal protection to have in our possession the said firearms. Those who decide to keep them, it is their choice, those who don't, it is also their choice.
I have given way to much time to you.
Wish you a good night, but you should sincerely inform yourself properly before insulting people like you know better, when you clearly don't.

Non registered. Means nobody has any idea how many are out there. How can you put a percentage on a number thats unknown?
1
u/Disastrous-Panic-87 May 25 '26
The for 50k ish subscription to the compensation program when they already knew there's was around 140k restricted firearms. So they only have around 30% of the known firearms number that were restricted. Adding all the previously non-restricted firearm that they banned. Many people state that they only had around 2% (50k ish) of the total of now banned firearms. That is an estimate.
