Fix my gun SKS scraping brass off casing during chambering. Need help!
Just got this SKS. When chambering a brass round, it scrapes a big chunk of brass off the casing.
It happens right at the bottom edge of the chamber (circled in blue).
Is this normal? If not, how do I fix it? Thanks!

I would get a gunsmith to address anything to do with the chamber. If you try to smooth it out yourself and you change the headspace of the chamber, it will make the rifle unsafe to shoot.
Also, check to make sure the pin on the mag follower isn't protruding up and out of the follower. This can also cause cases to get scraped, as well as feeding issues. I had this problem on mine and it didn't matter if the cases were steel or brass.
Yes, the rifle was designed to shoot steel case ammo. But you should be able to fire both steel case and brass without issue.
Is this a brand new surplus rifle? Or have you had it for a while?
