Kinda hard to see the details but this is one of the cleanest sks builds I've seen so far, nice work!

Not a big SKS guy but this looks really nice.

I am the same way

Someone asked about the mags. They are standard 10 round XCR mags

Looking good. I'm curious, what pic stock is this?

6

u/milanskiv May 20 '26

The gas tube cover is just the NC star one with that side rail unnecessary shit removed from jt

I mean the folding picatinny buttstock, sorry. I'm looking at bringing options to our market because most I can find here are at ridiculous prices

Ah it’s just a 3d printed one based of sig design. SBI has a minimalistic aluminum stock for 100 bucks or so and I do mean minimalistic , next closest one is around 250 bucks so something in between would be awesome.

Airsoft Artisan has a solid sig style one.

I was debating myself to just buy like 100x units of various 5KU stocks and then reselling them at a 15% markup. They have several models and apparently are pretty damn good.

. There's a YouTube video about them, the guy runs them through durability tests and they hold up just fine. I've got one on the way from Hong Kong right now.

Don't know how much of a secret it is anymore, but most stuff from China labelled for """airsoft""" is 100% intended for real rifles, they just cannot get the products past their customs without calling them toys/gel-blasters, or receiving special authorization from the government to make firearm parts (very difficult to get). Those same stocks are currently being sold here for 200+ dollars, and they cost literally like 25 USD to import. The amount of gouging in our firearms industry pisses me off, which I why I started making stuff in the first place.

A lot of it is from soft 6061 aluminum which on a fixed stock is fine but a folding mechanism out of 6061 will start rattling with use.

Like the SKS rear sight picatinny rail I picked up recently that felt like it was made out of butter and behaved like that on a rifle. It went off it real fast.

I think he’s asking what kind of 1913 mounting shoulder stock is this. Like that  built in cheek rise!

How do you... Aim?

7

u/milanskiv May 21 '26

Rear sight is replaced with red dot mount. Which is off for the picture.

how hard is it to modify the bolt? thats the only thing i dont want to do since ill fuck it up

2

u/milanskiv May 21 '26

Bolt for me is the easiest part because you get a "guide". Shave down the side lips until they are flush with the area next to it and that's it. The only way to fuck up is to cut into the bolt face and that's bad times.

Is this file available?

The rules require me to say no. But DM me to chat about other stuff.

3

u/milanskiv May 21 '26

Nikai SKS chassis for XCR mags

2

u/Canadian-gun-nut May 21 '26

What stock/chassis is that and what pistol grip is that? Clean clean build!

4

u/milanskiv May 21 '26

Nikai chassis with AK grip

2

u/JaxIsLoud May 22 '26

How did you attached the AK grip I plan on doing something similar

1

u/milanskiv May 22 '26

Chassis was designed so it takes the AK style grip

1

u/Cf98PilotSniper May 20 '26

Does the stock fit standard ar grips

5

u/milanskiv May 20 '26

If this was a DIY...please tell us the way!

it's not rocket surgery. You can do it in an hour. Take the two pins holding the front sight assembly off. First soak in WD40 overnight. Then hit sideways with a rubber or wooden mallet. Once off, use the annual cutter to bring the OD to the right size and a 1/2-28 die with the 30 cal bore pilot for the die.

1

u/Elbro_16 May 21 '26

1/2-28 is a little small for 30 cal no? Shouldn’t it be 5/8-24?

1

u/milanskiv May 21 '26

SKS barrel diameter does not allow for 5/8-24. You can do 1/2-28 and then use an adapter to step up to 5/8-24

1

u/NoGrapefruit1213 May 21 '26

Just not standard 9mm and 357 uses 1/2-28 aswell but yes I agree pretty small

1

u/goshathegreat May 21 '26

How do you aim?

1

u/milanskiv May 21 '26

Rear iron sight replaced with a red dot mount. Second best option around for mounting modern optics.

Basically an SVD at that point

I wish. I would have given my kidney for a type 81 in 7.62x54R
