Milsurps / Prohib Selling this thing a few years ago was probably my biggest mistake.

Man we used to have some cool shit not too long ago

u/IGnuGnat May 20 '26
It really wasn't that long ago that if we had an RPAL, we could machine or build our own handgun from scratch, go to the RCMP website and download a form, put a serial number on it, and register it. If you try to do this exact same thing today, suddenly you are magically trafficking in firearms. We have lost so much of our culture it's literally criminal. Canadian firearms culture has been outlawed and criminalized. I maintain that this ought to be the actual crime; the destruction of historical artifacts is equally as abhorrent as book burning

u/elnooboi May 20 '26
A very large amount of legal law abiding gun owners turned “criminals” overnight, the deactivation and destruction of historic artifacts 💩

u/Vsatbtw May 20 '26
Definitely a big mistake. But at least there’s some new solid 5.56 semis inbound

They can all go fuck themselves. Public safety is at an all time low and they think now is the best time to try and take everyone’s firearms? There’s something wrong with their brains. That’s why almost no one is complying. Where I live there is literally a murder, shooting or break in every day. I am never giving up my firearms. Firearms rights need to be a Canadian birth right just like the Americans
1
u/samwam May 23 '26
Nah dude, birthright is crazy talk. People need the training/licensing we have in Canada. I don’t want my kid getting shot at school.
If you’re talking property rights, then yes, we do need those.

u/Vsatbtw May 31 '26
No it’s not crazy talk. You should have a birthright to self preservation. It shouldn’t be a legal thing. It shouldn’t be a constitutional thing. It needs to be a right from birth. And there should be exceptions. Just like in America. Criminals should not be allowed to own firearms and you should still have to do the bare minimum training course. But these rights shouldn’t even be able to be questioned by the government is what I’m saying. They should be set and stone from birth as a right. I hope with my Generation we can make it a right

I don't know why she does it but every time she flaps her lips I am compelled to purchase more firearms. She is the second best greatest firearm salesperson this country has ever seen, second only to Trudeau

What muzzle device? Honestly could you give e a full breakdown of what you had? I'm working on a custom chassis for my sks and I think I could make a bunch of this stuff work

u/IndiscreetTreat May 20 '26 edited May 21 '26
Muzzle device was from a guy off gunpost, he doesn’t do them anymore since this thing got prohib status.
Edit: full build
The muzzle device is from a guy on gunpost who no longer makes em, the hand guard is a sigmaco quadrail, again not being made anymore but sometimes very rarely they pop up on gunpost.
Eotech exps3 for the sight, the grip is also one from gunpost, I’m pretty sure they’re still made just search “type 81 grip”. The guy 3d prints them. It’s a zenitco knockoff
And then the mount for the dot is called type 81 master mount full length optic mount with side rail.
The stock is a magpul CTR, the adapter is ALSO from a guy on gunpost, just search type 81 stock. I think it comes up as offer tube adspter or something. Guys name is Manufacturum Borealis or something along those lines. He commented on this thread so you’ll find his name there too.
And then the angled foregrip is a magpul AFG gen 2

Great looking build, love the dual-tone

u/IndiscreetTreat May 20 '26
Yeah the dual tone is FANTASTIC. And your stock adapter came in clutch :)

What kind of sks stock is this? /s
4
u/Vikare_ May 20 '26
To be fair some people did used to call the type 81 a slightly nicer sks. There were always complaints about it being too expensive for what it is.
Now that we don't have it anymore, and getting a sks reliably running detachable mags is expensive or requires some real effort, the type 81s weren't that bad. I really really liked my folder!

I was going to buy a t81m but all the fixed stocks had sold out and I thought qn underfolder would be super uncomfortable little did I know others had thought the same and had created adapters for the underfolder to make them fixed stocks......

Best t81 build in the country, no contest

u/IndiscreetTreat May 21 '26
Appreciate that homie. Lots of builds I saw in the past were either just straight ugly or over the top. I tried to keep it minimal yet useful and tasteful at the same time!

u/Amomentarylaspoflife May 21 '26
What hand guard is that ?
1
u/IndiscreetTreat May 21 '26
Sigmaco, doesn’t exist anymore. Only way you’re finding it is on the used market but even then. They’re rare.

I still miss my 92 INOX that I sold for reasons that are still unknown to me.
