Application / Regulation advice PSA: Ontario CFO isn't all bad, rpal renewal in <3 weeks
I just wanted to post that the Ontario CFO office isnt as bad as the federal govt. Submitted my rpal renewal on May 5 and received it today. It's a renewal so maybe easier than others but that's still pretty efficient for a govt office.
I went to the Toronto sportsman show last year and the cfo was there. They had people to answer questions including how to get a personal range approved. They made an honest effort to reach out to the gun owning community.
Made this post to remind the community that despite the dishonest Liberal govt, there are still some working in the RCMP that are honest and hard working. If we can get past Gary and Poly then it's possible to have a healthy and safe firearms community again. Feeling optimistic tonight...

Ontario CFO hit me and my family with a beautiful 2 month approval time for our PALs… taking my CRFSC on June 5th, hopefully it gets approved fast ish too

We should expect the cfo to do there job. Not giving Someone an aba boy for doing what they should.

Similar situation. Put in my renewal May 02, was in my possession May 13th.

I got my first RPAL in 5 weeks after applying March 16 this year. I’m already collecting rifles and have a good stockpile of ammo. I’d say they are doing a good job in Ontario.

Not to burst your bubble, but the CFO doing their jobs in accordance with the legislation has nothing to do with (and is no basis for optimism toward) the Liberal government screwing us all through legislation. It's no different than meeting a nice bus driver and saying "despite the government's plan to cut this bus route, I feel very optimistic because of this good experience".

You misunderstood the message.
The local cfo for me was professional and efficient (and reasonably honest in my few interactions). Nothing like our federal overlords. I was pointing out that not all govt people are deceptive like the Liberal leaders

I know what you're saying but that's why I said what I said. You seemed hopeful given the good service you got from the CFO despite the deceptive Liberals. The CFO is the administrative arm of the government. They're just there to administer the law as is. The Liberals are the legislative and executive branches of government, through which they implement their deception and corruption. I agree with you that we shouldn't slander all government workers because there are good people. And if that's all you were saying, I'd say amen. But you seemed to have come out of your experience with some kind of optimism for the sport. That's where I poked to pop the bubble. The future of the sport isn't resting on your nice CFO. They can be the nicest, most hardworking people, but if the Liberals implement the law, that's the final word

I get that sentiment but I'm pretty sure a few of the CFOs are sportshooters/reletively pro-gun and it's good to have allies on the inside.

I don't directly deal with the CFO, but someone in their office. The club I belong to sometimes shoots at military bases and members need an ATT (for handguns) to take them there. I've found turn around on ATT requests is never more than 3 days.
Never any issues.
