Buy recommendations Bear charge scenario: bolt gun splits?

I'm new to measuring splits between shots, and curious what everyone's baseline is for medium bore rifles at 25 yards or so?

Trying to decide if I should put together a 223 trainer or just run a lot of snap cap drills.

Accuracy > volume

You can't miss fast enough.

If you are actually serious about this, setup a moving target and practice gun down, gun up, from sling, etc etc until you can't get it wrong.

The rest of us carry bear spray and don't worry about it much.

I run vorn backpacks, they're pretty quick to draw from. Definitely a good point about the moving target, I ran a drill the other day and my second shot broke a chain holding up the target. Threw me for a bit of a loop on the third one since it was swinging.

Any ideas for a good target to swing? I'm thinking a chunk of old tire maybe, that way when I hit it the swing pattern changes and I don't have to walk down range every time to get it going

A good bear replica would be an old tire rolling downhill towards you at high speed. Closer the better.

Most of the time it won't happen in the open, it'll be in an alder choked hell hole where everything is snagging your shit.

That'll give you something to practice though.
