Application / Regulation advice Shipping suggestions for Alberta to Ontario

How do you ship a rifle these days? I want to have a tracking number and insurance. Canada post? DHL? Thanks for any recommendations.

Canada post is the only carrier that will ship firearms for non-business customers, just follow their guidelines for the appropriate shipping service and you’ll need to setup a free “small business” account with them to prepay the shipping label online.

Thanks. Looks like shipping in cardboard with the action locked is not acceptable? From their website:
"Attach a secure locking device to the firearms. Lock the firearms in a sturdy, non-transparent container."

A box is a sturdy container. Just tape it well.

Do not tell anyone it's a gun.

Yeah. I think I'll consider the taped up and double boxed package "locked". As long as I don't have to disclose the contents when I insure it that should work.
