Application / Regulation advice Upgrading from PAL to RPAL
I got my PAL in November and just completed my Restricted safety course. Applying for the upgrade but it requires again the reference, though I have to do it by snail mail.
What I’m wondering is can I just put the email and phone of my reference like I did in the online application for the PAL or is the physical signature required here?

I believe physical signatures are required.
And they will call your reference(s) this time, especially if you are married/common law/living with a partner.
It's best to fill out the application completely and accurately to avoid delays

Just upgraded my PAL to RPAL and neither my spouse or my references were contacted, probably because they’re under staffed and I’m not a criminal

Pretty sure it’s physical and honestly what’s the point in rpal now? There’s nothing left, not trying to be an ass I upgraded to RPAL and didn’t get it till after the 2020 oic then bill c 21 happened and bought as many hand guns as possible but after that there’s nothing left to buy but maybe levers that aren’t over 26” oal

I can rent pistols, which would be great

That’s fair I just haven’t seen that a thing anywhere lol but I also live in a tiny ass town we only have one range local and I think another like 30 min drive from me lol

Many ranges require RPAL for membership

Bro, my range doesn't even ask for a pal unless you are using the pistol range 😂

You can only apply online once (for reasons no one can explain). So if you applied online for your PAL, you must do everything by paper/mail for the RPAL. I had the same issue.
