What do you mean Australian model? I own and keep at home my CZ SP-01 in Australia our licensing of handguns was very similar to Canada before you guys changed it.
Depends on the state because gun laws aren’t federal just state based unless it’s imports. QLD doing that isn’t regulated VIC you need a permit but can definitely be done. Pretty common with pc chargers now.
Just the one but I've heard of some here and there. That was in my state under a Cat H Cat 2 which is for collectors, dealers, movie armorers and museums. In Qld you could own it under a club shooting Cat H but you have to be ready to challenge QPOL in court because they will denied it as soon as they realise what they have licensed it. They did it with AR15 pistols that were made in AU and a certain someone got licensed for a M1 Garand on a Cat B which is a manual action license (it was semi-auto). A guy won a court appeal to keep his handguns in Qld which included (all semi-auto) Uzi, Mac-10, CZ- scorpion, a Tec-9 and a .22LR AK so thanks to him club shooters can own them but QPOL reclassify shit they don't like as soon as they know about it. The Ruger PC Charger and Charger in .22LR are on the line but are fine for now. In Vic we don't have a lot stopping collectors from owning cool shit which is what Cat H Cat 2 is, including that the AUG was you mentioned. A lot of handgun's that aren't classed as club legal, such as an AR-15 handgun, a Sig 550 handgun and a bunch of Uzi's, MAC10's and CZ-Scorpions with a couple others I don't know about but I have heard of MP5 that were once rifles but now pistols in some collections. Our import laws stop us now from importing shit that looks cool but would otherwise be a legal handgun so what's here is here.
