Buy recommendations Advice: Shotgun for Lefty
Looking at purchasing a Shotgun, however, I'm left eye dominant and shoot from the left. I'd love to be able to grab a Blueline pump or Mossberg 88 but I've read mixed things about leftys shooting right eject firearms.
Are there any leftys out there who shoot these guns (or any other right side eject for that matter) and can offer there opinion. I know Browning Bps is an option but budget is a consideration.
I've also considered single shots and wondering if someone can recommend something other than a Daly 101 or Federation.

I’m a lefty and haven’t had issues with right eject shotguns, if anything they’re easier to load. One thing I would keep in mind is how the safety is set up, push button safeties can be annoying if you’re left handed.
If you want to go the Mossberg route I suggest either a model 500 or 590 since they both have tang safety that can be used easily lefthanded. The 88 has a push button safety that isn’t lefthand friendly at all.

I'm a lefty, unless you shoot a semi it doesn't matter. But a mossberg for cheap and save up for a lefty m2. I have both, and use both without issue.

I own two Ithaca Featherlight model 37 in 12ga. They do eject out the bottom. They also have slam fire. Absolutely awesome shotguns. Great for blinds and stands when you’re with a partner. You don’t hit the other hunter with your shells. I see them on TownPost quite often.

Fair question, mostly thinking of the budget, plus any used ones I've seen at gun shows/gunpost are in rough shape.

most SxS will have cast-off, biasing the stocks for right-handed shooting

I am also left handed, left eye dominant. I just picked up these 2 bad boys and haven't had a problem.

Only issue I’ve ever had as a lefty is bull pups. Can’t shoot those ones lol

BPS if you can find one. All my lefty friends shoots right handed guns and seems to do fine.

99% of pump shotguns are able to be used completely ambi. This isn’t as much of an issue as you think it is.

My wife is wrong handed and a Beretta a400 works well for her as you can adjust stock length and cast-off to cast-on (left/right bias of the stock)

As a fellow lefty, don’t worry about it too much. It only really starts to matter when you’re shooting gas-operated semi’s as when they start getting dirty they’ll “spit” carbon into your face. This can be avoided with inertia semi’s, like Benelli & Stoeger, for example.
I say if budget is a factor, and if you’re not sure about the whole right side ejection thing, and if you want something decent, go for that Maverick 88.
Edit: BPS would be great but they are heavy!

I've never had an issue with my Weatherby SA-08 spitting gas in my face, but using it for hunting, I can't say I've ever had it get terribly dirty... Pumps are no issue, unless a non-reversible safety, tang safety is king here.

If you want to go single shot the rossi and stevens are the way to go. Both are pretty much as good as the other, id just go with whichever one you find more comfterble.

I’m a lefty and I personally have never had issues with ejections from shotguns. Now with that being said, all of the pump shotguns I OWN are bottom eject, but that’s unrelated to any issues I would have encountered with right side ejects I have shot.
Semi auto rifles on the other hand, I find sometimes shoot a little bit of hot gas into my eye/face. It’s no longer an issue now that I wear glasses. Just my two cents.

As for recommendations for single shots, I would say buy a used one. Baikals, Cooeys, CILs, etc are all good guns. I have a CIL in 16 gauge, and everyone tells me they hate the plastic part and it’s going to break, but the gun is from the 70s and has been my beater since I was 13 and it still works just fine. When it comes to budget, something old for $200 is almost always better than something brand new for $200.

I shoot long guns left-handed, and fell into a 1000+ round a week clay-shooting habit about 20 years ago. International trap and sporting clays was actually my gateway drug into guns in general. At one point I was reloading 2500 Winchester AA hulls a week.
That is to say, I've probably shot more shotshells than average, from a variety of guns, and I've never felt the need to own a left- or bottom-ejecting shotgun. That isn't to say I don't want one - I do, because I want all the guns, but you can absolutely shoot right-handed shotguns as a lefty just fine.
If budget is a concern, and you're just getting into shotguns and not sure what direction it might take (hunting, clays, plinking, whatever), look for the cheapest used, but serviceable, Remington 870 Wingmaster you can find. They are tanks, and there is aftermarket support to turn one into whatever sort of shotgun you want; tacticool, super adjustable stocks that can be made to fit you perfectly for clays, slug guns, whatever. And if you ever want to sell it, you basically can't lose money on them.
If you want to go extremely budget, a single shot Cooey will be your best bet and comes with some cool old-school made in Canada vibes, but if you go that route try and handle one before you buy it. They're getting relatively long in the tooth, and it's impossible to tell how tight the lockup is from a photo.

Speaking form perosnal experience... im right handed but left eye dominant.
I use a mix of ambi controls where the kit allows me, else i just use a right handed bit of kit.
Of the 9 guns i own, only one is a lefty. Just because you are left eye doesnt mean you need a lefty rifle or shotgun. you will not be pelted by expended casings.

I shoot lefty. No issues with right side eject.
My A300 Ultima lets you reverse the safety and flip the stock shims to be set up for left hand.

I havent heard too many issues by leftys using right handed pump shotguns. You may get hit with a little more of the burnt chicken smell from the chamber but i dont think it does the typical eject into your face like some semi autos

The Panzer M4 Speed Pro lets you switch the charging handle to the left, if you’re ever interested in a semi shotgun.

Browning Bps. My hunting partner is also left, he uses one and so do I. It's bottom eject and tang safety so I can hand it to my right handed wife and she can use it without issue. Helps that it's probably one of the nicest pump shotguns you can buy.
If you're fine with fixed choke you can get one for about $450. Used newer models go for about 600-700.
