Misc IPSC Ontario

I got in too late, should’ve been 25 instead of being 13 in 2021. Is there any hope or cope or way to get into dynamic IPSC style shooting, shotgun or rifle in Ontario, I can’t find anything that, doesn’t need a handgun or black badge… IPSC Ontarios website and email hasn’t been useful for jack shit yet, idk why they airing me…

Please help 🙏

Yeah, it’s a big problem for new shooters with no access to handguns. Some clubs are running their own dynamic courses to allow new members to shoot - like shotgun.

You can get exemptions to shoot .22 that will let you buy, but you need to participate in a 22 hand gun league.

Yeah. I know my local Western Ontario handgun league loans handguns to people to qualify and has successfully gotten the exemptions to buy - so join a local gun club that shoots .22 pistol

There is going to be a shotgun "black badge" it will be possible soon I'm told. This is also true for mini rifle (22)

I think some of the 3gun matches have options for you that dont involve holstering. I will ask my people

There are mini-rifle black badges. You can borrow a handgun to do a regular black badge. Mini rifle or IPSC shotgun are growing. Lookup what ranges shoot those and visit during a match.

IPSC is poor at communicating outside of its core groups.

Other options are to shoot matches in the states.

Speak to your local range and ask about the badge process. Plenty of dudes running their TM22s for mini rifle right now.

IPSC member only forums.

The smart play is still borrow a handgun and do the regular BB. The mini rifle BB allows you to shoot MR or PCC. The handguns allows everything.

Best point of contact is BB instructors.

I know Dunnville rents out hamd guns to members and runs black badge courses. Outside of that see if a friend will loan you a pistol to do your black badge.

13 in 2021

Damn I feel old…

Well, your only option is to get an RPAL and borrow a pistol, or shoot PCC/22lr rifle.
