Buy recommendations 1301 and 357 Reasons to Smile
Newest procurement ... Beretta 1301 Mod 2 Tactical with S&J Hardware bolt handle and mag extension and a Burris Fastfire E red dot on a Reptilia mount. Henry Model X with a Holosun 509T red dot on a Ranger Point Precision low profile mount and an Olight PL X. Going to keep upgrading but so far really really happy with both of them.

Very nice. I recently put an order in for a Mossberg 590a1 retro and Henry provider 357, I’m looking forward to their arrival, glad to hear you’re enjoying your Henry!

Does anybody think the Gen 2 1301’s are worth the upgrade over the Gen 1?

There is the Gen 1, Gen 2, and Mod 2. Minor differences throughout. Trigger is basically the same for all of them. Some people like the pro lifter in the Mod 2, I could take it or leave it. Mod 2 handguard is nice if you're planning on running a light, if not it's not a big difference. If you can score a good deal on the Gen 1's they're honestly the best bang for buck. Swap out the bolt release or 3d print the "fix" and you're set. Only downside is if you use chokes, the Gen 1 isn't threaded. Some minor differences that I didn't mention throughout the generations, but not significant enough IMO.

Pretty sure you can just buy the pro lifter if you wanted to, for sure you can get the mod 2 handguard - i got mine from S&J hardware.

Not knowing a tonne about the gen 1s it seems worth it to me. The mod 2 didn’t cost me any extra and it got me a better forend and the pro lifter.
